Hi friends,

Feels good to be back on MS after a whole month! Last month I was in India for 10 days to get my Masters degree in computer application. It was a trip to remember. It was the first time I traveled alone. That too on a 15 hour flight!

I wrote my last DP asking fellow MSians on how I should be spending my time on the 15 hr flight. Thanks to all the Msians who gave me brilliant ideas. For those who want to read those ideas can visit the following link:

I enjoyed myself on the flight. My first destination was New York. It was a one hour flight. After that I had to board Air India for the non- stop 15 hour flight. To be frank, the first flight was the difficult one even though its duration was about an hour. It was a small aircraft with about 15 rows of seats. Each row had two seats on one side and one on the other. So there were 3 seats per row. The problem with small aircrafts is that they are more susceptible to turbulence and air pockets. Even while making slight turns I felt as if the plane was going to flip over..hehe. I got the window seat on the first row with no passenger beside me! During takeoff, I closed my eyes, relaxed myself and avoided looking outside..hehe. Actually the take off went pretty well. I was much relieved when the plane was in the air. I took a deep breath and finally looked outside to enjoy the view.

After a few moments the seat belt sign was off and drinks were being served. I chose tomato juice, something that I would never choose when at home..:-p I was all relaxed and sipping the juice when suddenly the whole plane started shaking. The seat belt light went on. I got anxious and started to take deep breaths. I buckled in and looked around nervously. Outside, I could see dark clouds.

Suddenly, we all heard the captain's voice " Please remain in your seats and fasten your seat belts. We are experiencing some turbulence due to bad weather". After a few clicking sounds of seatbelts being fastened, there was pin drop silence in the cabin. The plane continued to sway up and down. I had a funny feeling in my chest whenever there was a slight free fall...hehe. After about 15 mins the turbulence subsided and I could feel the atmosphere in the plane getting back to normal. I thanked god and finished by juice. Finally, the captain announced that everything is fine and we would be landing at JFK in 10 mins. It was music to our ears. :-P As the plane started to descend, I plugged in my mp3 player and closed my eyes. The landing was smooth and finally the plane came to a complete stop. Everybody in the cabin clapped for the Captain and the crew. I was so happy to be back on ground. Then I realized "hey, there is another flight!!!" 15 hrs!!!!!!!!

Well the 15hrs flight description will continue in the next part! Thanks all for reading..
