A small girl was sitting near a dog house sheltering two huge Alsatians. She felt happy in the company of the huge canines. (in the school campus during the lunch break..)
This girl was a house captain, good in sports, good in speeches along with many other things. This was a reason for her peers to ignore her, as they were jealous of her achievements.
Many girls of her class were her 'best friend'. She craved for the real friends ...who would be there for her no matter what!
The girl grew up , got adjusted to the fact that to get real friends she has to leave it on fate. Good times came and college days brought her a set of kind hearted , similar thinking, friends whom she accepted for life. Alas! wishing for a life long friendship was too much..as she got married within three years of college. Then came the age of letters, calls (std was very costly then...) and it continued.
She lost touch with them (it takes two to keep in touch..) as her friends got married ,kids and so on..
Life goes on ..She had everything she wanted but her deepest darkest thoughts , her agonies, troubles...all that grew and grew...as she had no one to confide.
(Some thought that she should be happy with what she had, some said you make new friends...) But if there was a market to buy friends she would have got a few..
Still she makes new connections thinking this time it might work..but the new connections already have their own world....and it always breaks or limping friendship continues..
Everytime a connection breaks (or ignored...) it hurts all over again..
Loner she was and loner she will die she thinks....
