However, it was surprising that the highest grosser of 2015, Bajrangi Bhaijaan did not win the best film award. The disappointment of fans was evident in the trending hashtag on twitter. Movies that did not do well at the box office - Roy and Bombay Velvet - also went home with a few awards.
