Debit Card - Lost, Used and Found!

By: confusedsoul | Posted Jan 29, 2014 | Direct Dil Se | 881 Views

Plastic money, quite comfortable isn't it? Well, of course. We can easily shop and also get points for the same, watch movies for free, comfortable and easy but there is a catch to it.

With great comfort comes great risk. I hope Spider-Man will forgive me for altering his dialogue!

One important thing that I have kept pending for long is linking my new number with my bank account, little did I think it will end up in adventure.

It was a fine Sunday evening when I went out for a regular evening shopping spree. First stop was the petrol bunk, I got the regular filing done and carried on further. With an access to credit and debit card, whatever comes handy becomes the tool of shopping.

Without realising much, I finished the spending for the day. While on my way home, I received a call from my bank asking if I have my debit card. I confirmed without an iota of doubt but quickly checked my satchel. I couldn't find it!

Soon I was informed about they getting a call from a popular cell phone retailer where the card was presented.I rushed to the cell phone shop, collected my card and after getting the mini-statement from ATM, I came to know that the card was used before twice at the petrol bunk. I did it the first time and the next entry was for 10 liters of petrol!

Immediately I realised how I missed collecting the card from the petrol bunk fellow. I rushed to the bunk and it didn't take much time for me to recognize the man. He was reluctant to speak with the owner around protecting and showering all trust on him. The moment I mentioned "Police" the man started speaking and he confessed taking the card and not returning.

He also mentioned how he got the bike tank filled and proceeded to buy a phone. Seeing a woman's name and a man using the card the shop's salesman was reluctant to use the card. That's how the whole episode came to light.

The man was "sorry" and said he never did this before, of course, there aren't many confused souls around!

The bunk owner paid for 10 liters and I decided to reward the salesman of the cellphone shop. He deserved it. As a good will gesture both of us paid 1000 to the honest soul and closed the chapter for good!

I learnt the lesson a hard way. But thanks to my busy schedule I am yet to get my bank account linked with my phone!

Thanks for Reading!

Wish you a Pleasant Day ahead!
