There she is
I can see her
Clear as day
As it were
She's glowing
Radiating a halo
Never fails that
To turn me into jello
I call out her name
She doesn't blink
I call out again
Nothing
I walk towards her
She walks away
Her back towards me
Never turning back
I run,
But like a mirage
The closer I get
The further we are
No, not now
What is wrong with this picture
She would never do this
Never leave me in the lurch
And then she turns around
And casts me a smile
Finally!
It's been quite a while
I say Hi
Yet she does not see
I am dumbfounded
Confused, Lonely
Wait, what's this
Is she smiling at me
Yes, oh, yes
Perhaps she still cares for me
One step, then two
She steps forth into view
Arms outstretched,
Caring anew
Yet those arms
They are not for me
They are for her lover
Who passes me, carefree
And then they embrace
As I just stand there
Watch their love
Their insolent affair
And still I call out to her
To please at least see
The love we once shared
The days, nights, the memories
Then she walks off
Hand in hand
I cannot reach her
Feeling washed off in the sand
As I lay there
Watching them disappear
Saying to myself
Did I ever love her?
Of course I did
That shall always be true
Yet I wonder
Was I just a fool
To place my faith
In such a fragile emotion
For it to tear me
When it shattered my illusion
I don't know
I still do now
All I know is
I lay here, with a broken heart
