Hi , this is a discussion post where I am going to raise a question which has been bothering me for ages. I would like to have different viewpoints of who so ever thinks has something to say. Since I know there is not one such perfect answer , so I am not looking for one either. But my motive is to seek different people's opinion on this.
Q. After arranged marriage , which accounts for around 75% in India , why are girls expected to give respect , show care and concern and consider her in-laws to be LIKE her own parents , forgetting / keeping aside her own family which she leaves and comes , WHEREAS the guy not only WANTS to stay away from girl's family as much as possible but also lets her know that he feels uncomfortable in adjusting with them and that he would prefer her to visit them alone , whenever she wants.
Is this fair ? Is it only going to be based on that TYPICAL MALE DOMINATED society wala thought ? Dont we girls have self respect ? Dont we or our parents have some expectations from their husbands / son -in-law to follow? Do you find my question logical or am I thinking in a totally irrational way? Please help with some views.
N.B. This is not at all a post where I am being unfair to guys and favouring girls. I agree it varies from person to person . I just want some opinions.
