Successes and Failures aside, Milan Luthria’s works so far reflect his penchant for exploring new vistas. Starting as a Mahesh Bhatt protégé and later venturing out on his own with films like Kache Dhaage, Chori Chori, Taxi No 9211, Hattrick, Deewar and now Once Upon A Time In Mumbai (OUATIM), L...Read more

Going by a popular belief, I always had this conception that Aamir Khan must be a pain in the neck for his directors by interfering in the garb of being a perfectionist. After watching Ghajini and now 3 Idiots, I feel the myth is somewhat broken. Both the films have distinct styles of film-makin...Read more

There is a cruel law of the nature that’s called the law of averages. If you are good one day, you are bound to be bad the other day to keep it even. Imtiaz Ali, it seems, is an exception to this rule. After Socha Na Tha and Jab We Met, Imtiaz’s third film Love Aaj Kal promises to hit the bull’s...Read more

@Rohit: 3 is first division and I felt that the film belonged to tht category and hence the rating. You might differ with me on the rating but the film is not the typical Yashraj fare for sure. As for Zirge, I think its too soon to rate him highly. Let's see if he gets another film and a more su...bstantial role to showcase himself. @Javeed: Yeah, I finally managed to post it after the maintenance exercise ended at MS. I was itching to be back here. Thanks for liking the review! @Raj: Rightly pointed Raj..the movie might not be a classic piece but the subject is definitely good and relevant. Liked the research u did for the review :) Nice flow in the review but I still feel that the direction was not all tht bad barring the end. If a director cud get John and Katrina act, we must give him some credit, shouldn't we ;)

When you visit the Ground Zero in New York, you can very well sense that quietness amidst the bustling streets of the downtown. Such is the impact of the 9/11 incident. It certainly changed our lives, perceptions and to some extent majority of the World’s outlook towards Islam. New York, is an a...Read more

I am not gonna watch this one..even if it came after a six month long strike :) Vashu Bhagnani lost the plot ever since he moved away from Govinda-David Dhawan combo. He was the poor man's Sajid Nadiadwala..its sad that luck ran out on him. Since I haven't seen the film, I can't comment on Jackky's ...acting abilities but otherwise I too feel that he deserves a better go at the BO. Your comparison of Jackky to Uday Chopra was bang on! It's been long since I last visited Mouthshut..it was nice to find your review when I got back :)Read More

Priority (?)

The P word.. Hmm..On a serious note, the different meanings that Priority assumes for different people actually leads to lasting differences in relationships as well. On a lighter note, I think priorities are misplaced a lot of times as well. Back in school I would be sad despite scoring well becaus...e I was not the topper while a friend of mine who barely managed to pass painted the town red even though he ’just passed’! We are doing equally good today :)Read More

P1-P5 parking..and u r not talking of Tokyo?!! Parking is probably the biggest problem at any of these malls. I was made to stand outside the parking queue outside the MGF mall in Gurgaon yesterday for a good 20 minutes before spending another 5-10 minutes searching for space to park the car in the ...2 level parking. 5-level parking seems like a luxury we can't have :(Read More

@vpadiyar: I gave it a 2.5. I feel the film looked interesting because of the actors (mainly Bomman Irani, Amit Mistry and Kunal Khemu) and not the storyline (which had its share of unwanted moments despite being original) or the direction. And if a film doesn’t score well enough in these two depart...ments, I think a 3.5 rating will be a bit more than it deserves. But yes, the story was original and I had the temptation to give it an extra 0.5 on that front. Not that it wud hv mattered much..but still :) Thanks for visiting and commenting.Read More
