The Oberoi Udaivilas is a five star deluxe hotel in Udaipur, Rajasthan situated on the banks of the Lake Picchola directly opposite to the City Palace of Udaipur and near the Jag Mandir.
This is a hotel belonging to the Oberoi Group of ...Hotels or the East India Hotels Ltd.
It was recently awarded the recognition of being the 'Worlds Best Hotel for 2007' by various elite and premier international hotel and travel guides and associations.
After seeing this hotel, you'll want to forget all these wannabe joints in a hurry which rip of names to gain business - resorting to cheap marketing gimmicks !
The Oberoi Udaivilas is the very lap of luxury which has put the Indian hospitality industry standards right there on top of the world map.
I would like to highlight that these recognitions are no joke in any ways as they are open to extremely high standards of scrutiny and surprise checks with mystery shoppers, which let me have you know, cannot be rigged in any ways unlike nearly everything in India can !
I must also add that I find your review quite ironical as you list some very major and inexcusable flaws with this joint but yet you give it a four-stars rating and want to recommend it to your fellow mouthshutters - Your patience and flexibility quotients must be pretty remarkable and formidable !Read More

You have not mentioned the address or city or railway station where this restaurant is located, so as per your recommendations we can't try it even once forget about being a regular & loyal customer like you !
You have not mentioned the average price for a meal for four or two persons or the restau...rant timings, if any....
What is the average waiting time during meal times on weekends/holidays & other days ?
Any contact nos. of the restaurant ? Does the restaurant take reservations ?
Is it only a Vegetarian joint ?

Send a registered post letter with acknowledgment due addressed to the MD / Chairman / President / CEO of the company at their Head Office or Registered Office in India marking a copy to the RBI, address in your city or to their Head Quarters in New Delhi, who is the watchdog of the banks across the... country.
Request for explanations from the bank authorities and set a time frame say 02 weeks for them to respond - you need to mention this in your letter, also mention all your other grievances and how you were made to run around.
If there is no response within the specified time period then send them a lawyers’ notice demanding explanations - let your lawyer draft it with all legal terminology, again marking a copy to the RBI.
You could even threaten closure of your bank account at this stage and demand compensation for all the harassment and inconvenience caused to you.
If still no response then you decide whether you want to file a case in a competent consumer court - you don’t need a lawyer and you don’t need to pay any court fees, you only need a lot of time, patience and energy !
In your affidavit to the court, you can demand compensation from Canara Bank for all your legal expenses as well as harassment caused.
Remember to maintain all your correspondence with your bank very safely in a separate file and to, henceforth, restrict all communication to the written one wherein you are sending it by Registered Post - Acknowledgment Due only as these are recognized by a Court of Law as evidence of follow ups and requests made and the harassment meted out by the bank officials.
Usually, most organizations buckle under the pressure of seeing a registered letter or a lawyers notice and give in to the demands on the pretext of upholding "customer satisfaction".
No big company wants to slug it out in courts especially the consumer ones where a majority of the verdicts go against them !

Bangalore city has truly become such a lousy place to live in with utter chaos on the roads - poor traffic management (policing), poor roads (potholes galore) and to add to the woes such an over population of vehicles on those narrow roads.
The sad part is there are no law makers or enforcers a...s they are very busy trying to either save their legislature seats or retain them once Presidents rule is lifted by figuring out all kinds of flawed permutations and combinations to be a part of the state government and have their fingers in the pie !
So, per se there is absolutely no accountability on the so-called government servants right from the Chief Secretary, Home Secretary, Secretary of the Surface Transport and Roads Dept., City Mayor, Commissioner of the Municipal Corporation (BBMC), Head of the BMTC, right down to the Police Commissioner level, etc., so how can you expect any kinds of governance to actually take place !
All these guys are just indulging in time pass and I am pretty sure bunking office with impunity hoping that Presidents rule be lifted only once they have all passed their retirement !
Under these pathetic circumstances, one has to just bite their tongues and survive in a don’t-give-a-damn society bulging with petty crooks in uniform (police constables) to auto wallas.

I agree this model of Nokia is a damp squid - a failure. Deifinitely not value for money....
You could try contacting the Mr. Manohar Raj, who is the Regional Service Manager - South Zone of M/s. Nokia India Pvt. Ltd. and demand support. He is based out of their Bangalore regional office and han...dles the states of Karnataka, Kerala, Andra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu.

I know that you are based out of Delhi, but you could force this official to provide you with his counterpart's direct number - the best way is to threaten consumer court and legal action then all these MNCs buckle under pressure.
Better still, go to your lawyer and ask him to shoot off a letter to the company's corporate office in Delhi, all the pieces of your jigsaw puzzle will fall into place.... I share this from past experiences !Read More

Include tariff details for single & double occupancies, off-season periods, details on packages for 02 & 04 persons, distance from airport/railway station/main bus stand, basic details on tourist hot spots in Udaipur, best time of the year to visit Udaipur, what to do & what to avoid while in Udaipu...r, advantages of this hotel vis-a-vis competition, accommodation provided to driver ?, meals pricing for 02 & 04 persons, suggestions on how & where the hotel needs to improve, what changes you would like them to make in order to benefit your stay there, etc.
Basically, you should spice up your review with more information & details in order to get better readership & member ratings.... This review was nice but could have been much better.
By the way, what is your take on the Oberoi Udaivilas Resort located next door ?
Have you gone on a 'show around' ?
How is the hotel doing ?

I presume that 'tcharlie' got confused & gave a NU rating for this review, bcoz his comments are ironical where he's agreeing whole heartedly with 'enemy.at.gates's' review that the product is a wastage of money.
One presumes, that 'tcharlie' was trying to give a NU rating to the product - Nokia 62...70 and not to the review content.

I didn't know the GLG model of Indica Xeta came with power windows & fog lights ?!?
Only the GLX has power windows, same colour rear view mirrors (on both sides) as the body, rear glass wiper, fog lights.
The models start with GL (very basic), GLG (medium range), GLS (higher end) & GLX (top model ...with max. features).
Correct me if I am wrong buddy, but even I have an Indica Xeta GLX model purchased on 09th Aug. 2006.
The GLG as far as my knowledge goes, does not come with fog lights or power windows, because even the GLS (higher end model) doesn't have these two features.
What is the warranty period on your car ?
Maybe you have the GLX and not the GLG model, please re-check.Read More

Useful website with live / up-to-date information on availability of seats, fares, timetables, pnr status, etc.
Could remove the e-ticket charges though as suggested.
Otherwise, a very practical & organized site as well as facility very much unlike a govt. organizations standards.

You could have mentioned : -
(A) The fave items on the menu. What is their speciality ?
(B) The meal price for two as well as four four.
(C) The proper address with landmark of this restaurant.
(D) The road map on how to get there from a central point in the city.
(E) The best time of th...e week or day to go there (For e.g., Sunday lunch/brunch or Saturday night, etc.).
(F) How many times have you visited this eatery in the recent past.
(G) List out the items you have tried which features on their menu.
(H) What are your suggestions to make this place better.
(I) Is this place more of a waterhole for the young crowds or is this place a family joint where you can hang out with uncle, aunty & bunty.
(J) What is the best place to sit in this joint, the ones in the garden / terrace. Or the AC hall. Or the ones facing the pond, etc. (you understand ?).
(K) How much one should tip the waiter at this joint (avg.) say my bill came up to a 1000 bucks here, then how much I should tip my waiter.
(L) Does the place have a convenient parking facility attached. Do they offer valet parking.Read More
