Hello Pras, I think its still undecided as to who's to give its music. The script itself is yet to be finalised, with all the historical accuracies n all. Hope its ARR. Maybe after composing a string of modern day melodies might make him cater to period films again. Cheers, Sriraam.

I dunno why, but Taal never clicked for me. Might just be a personal difference in taste. And yeah, after Mangal Pandey, ARR did state that he nolonger is open to period films. He says its a waste of time as the end product, after the editing, doesn't make it worthwhile. Just not sure, I'd love t...o have him give the music for Ashutosh Gowariker's Jodha Akbar. Them two seem to work very well, along with Javed Akthar ofcourse. Cheers, SriraamRead More

Hello Pras, Top notch review there by you. Its time for me to return the favour by telling if MS would've allowed me, I'd have palgarised this myself. The best part of the album is many things that have been typical of Rahman. For example, how he breaks one line of the lyrics into 2 different ...notations. Something like: Ap- -Ni to Paathshaala Mas -Ti ki Paathshaala Or in my favourite song of the album, Luka Chuppi where its: [High pitch]Tere kisson -jaisa boola [Low pitch]Saloona jahan hai Or... The best part in the second antra of Rahman's, from kaise tujhko dikhaun... Guchcha guchcha kai khwabon ka its a normal pitch then comes a high pitch with a range of percussions from uchal ke chuwa hai to Chaaya liya bhali dhoop yahaan hai ...clearly that's magic! I ain't tired yet listening to that song. It has shown that ARR can shun the electricals and even then create magic with percussion, guitar and a refreshing tabla. Overall the album though was strictly good in my opinion. Keep 'em shattering mate, Sriraam. :-)Read More

Hello cc22, For me, I guess Sarkar comes close to liking AB Jr. as an actor. Have seen the likes of Bunty Aur Babli where he was decent. I could never find any scenes enthralling or any of those pranks a breath of fresh air. (Read: Character actor) The likes of Hrithik Roshan in Lakshya, ...Aamir, Saif and Akshay Khanna in DCH, Nana Paterkar himself in Ab Tak Chapan (abiet in this movie he is good), are a few recent examples of character actors. There is a difference in playing Roy and being Roy. You do not find something about the character in you, you create the character and portray. Koi Mil Gaya, although largely a children's movie, Hrithik was deserved ly applauded for his character acting.Read More

Great review there Suresh as always :-) Just the one point of disagreement wherein Soona Man Ka Aangan for me was a better duet than Piyu Bole but each to his own. Very rare to see such great periodical music with simplicity in the score especially when there are various other instruments to b...e used which could enhance the feel. Has stuck to the limitations of the movie and the time in which it is based on. Looking forward to more....Read More

Hello Sanketh, Agreed. Yet he is new to Bolywood relatively. And for a director of southern music to come up with a brilliant album, and abum which needs a northern flavour is commendable. He had directed Sur and Jism before, yet this one seems completely different and fresh. Cheers! :-)

The music of Paheli might not cater to one and all. Having been paralyzed by the fact that it is only A.R Rahman that bring in versatility and variation to make a song an orchestral dream coupled with melodious brilliance, I have been forced to think twice. Hello Suresh, you seem to have a good reading when it comes to songs. Nice review there. Azadi is the pick of the lot along with Ekla Chalo. Still not the best of ARR. I would say a step behind Lagaan, Dil Se, for starters, yet brilliant to say the least. I guess that's the class of the great man.

Heartfelt thank you for all the kind words firstly. Criminal, no I haven't seen the video of Seekho Na. Infact, it is just when you told me that I heard there was a video of that song as well. I had seen only the Ab Ke Sawan video which was good and fun. Seekho Na, I think I really missed the ...video as the lyrics are nothing but class. And the tune in itself is great. Infact, all songs are catchy. And purely on one to hum along, I feel Hai Pyar To Musafir is the best as it has a great start with immensely brilliant stern and controled anthra. I feel this album is immensely underrated. It was brilliant to the core, love it and still listen to it very often. Shubha Mudgal is special. Her voice in itself gives many a features about herself, her cultured nature and a strong base on Hindustani as well as Classical music which enables her to have that hold on the song very well. Looking forward to further releases of her albums in future.Read More

I was really sad that the movie flopped as it was something special for a long time in Bollywood. Farham is the best young director in our country.
