Dear PiyushRd, I just had to comment on your review. You are justified in your opinion of a movie, but you have made an extremely ignorant statement in your review. You said ’’Why should I care about America and what goes on there when I have more pressing issues closer to home?’’ Terrorism is... a GLOBAL issue. The stereotyping of people due to their religions is a GLOBAL issue. I live in America. Why should I care about what goes in India?? Or Iran? Or Afghanistan? 99% of hindi movies are shot outside of India. Why do you watch? Why do you even care whats going on outside of your own neighborhood? This story was not American by any means. It dealt with the issue of Indians being stereotyped due to religion, and that extends across the world. Read More

I am usually inspired to write a movie review either because it was SO mind numbingly horrible that I want to trash it as much as I can, or because I am utterly moved by a movie. Fortunately for "Wake Up Sid, " it is the latter! I cannot say it is the greatest movie I have ever seen. But I can s...Read more

This show has been pure entertainment! Seriously! I love your quote A bloated and visibly bored Ram Kapoor '..HA! WHat happened to him?? He is REALLY bloated up!!! Sometimes he looks like he is keeping himself from laughing at the drama!

I agree that Saif looked OLD!! With age, it looks like his eyes are shrinking and his nose is growing! Bad combo! And looking more and more wrinkly! He did not look like the new generation.. New guys like Imran, Ranbir, Shahid, Neil Nitin would have worked much better and not looked like a Kishmish ...instead of a grape.Read More

Good review! But the title confused me a little..until I read your later line. And i totally agree. We need more movies like this!! And yes, The movie reminds us all to do what we like to do, because 'if we don’t follow our heart, we would be reduced to a money-making machine devoid of any love, pas...sion and friendship. The message sounds clichd, but is very well delivered.' Absolutely... However, how many of us ACTUALLY follow our heart?? I wish we did more...I wish I could, and I wish you could. and I wish everyone could! The world would be much happier..Read More

Hi, Thanks for your comment. I have not thought of it from your perspective, and that is an interesting thought. If the message was what you saw, then it was not clearly expressed in the film at all, at least to me. At the end of the film, when they showed youngsters being interviewed, they seeme...d 'inspired' to make a change and commended DJ And the gang on their killing... So is that what they are saying will inspire the future generation? Killing? That is how it came across to me... Also, another point that was disturbing was that Bhagath fought to free his people from the Britishers. Here, Aamir and the gang fought to free their people FROM THEIR OWN PEOPLE! Basically, they show zero progress. In fact, they show that India has gone backward since Bhagath. At least before India fought against a common enemy..Now its against each other?Read More

All of these topics on Living in India vs. Living Abroad made me want to write my review as well... Let me introduce myself. I am a 26 year old ABCD female. I was born and raised in the state of NH, a small country-esque state. My parents came from India about 34 years ago. I am married to a won...Read more

Hi, I have just come back from a trip to Bangalore. I am 26 and am an ABCD. I speak fluent hindi, write hindi, and am a film buff. I do not smoke, drink, or do drugs. Nor have I ever. I am married to a guy who grew up in India. I thoroughly respect my elders. On my trip to India, I saw and sp...oke with some youngsters, and let me say, they are FARRRRRR worse than a lot of ABCD's. Problem being, they follow AMERICANS, not INDIANS from America. THey way they talked astonished me. Their attire, mannerisms, and massive smoking and drinking sickened me. If youth in India calls this 'progress', they are mistaken. The progress of following the American way is if I see MORE WOMEN in satisfying careers after marriage, more women getting higher education etc. NOT chain smoking and sleeping around before marriage. I have spoken to many friends who have just cme back from India. If you think the youth is ANY better in India, you are sadly mistaken. Also, have you ever thought that perhaps life is very difficult for an ABCD as well? I mean, parents in India have changed with time. Ours havent. For us to balance modernized thinking with really old ideals is very difficult. I do however, agree that what you have in India you do not have here. I was born in USA, and when I go back, I have a MASSIVE feeling of belonging... All of my friends have been talking about moving back. Unfortunately, no one ever seems to follow through... My husband and I ourselves have been talking about trying to get opportunities for a year or so to work there, and see how it is. Of course, it totally freaks my folks out to think that their daughter brought up in the USA and educated in the USA might want to actually go to India and leave them here, cause there is no way they want to go to India!Read More
