Thanks. Nice, neat review and advice. You've compared it well to the others, and shown the advantages and their shortcomings in the right light

Puspajyoti, I'm also 5' 4' and I ride the old model CBZ. The Hunk has a lower seating position-- if that is what you meant. My friend who is 5' 7' also has difficulty putting both feet down on the CBZ -Xtreme-- this is not only because of the higher seating position but also due to the rear set ...footpegs which makes you bend forward naturally due to which it is difficult to plant both feet on the ground-- since you will not naturally straighten yourself when you stop the bike. Broadly speaking... CBZ-Xtreme - is for sporty riders Hunk - Comfortable, convenient, dependable ride Pulsar - Street bike; it's fun, though it could be high on maintenance, perhaps lower in build quality compared to Hero Honda. General riding technique suggests that you don't put both feet on the ground-- since you would duck-walk if you did that. So don't bother about that aspect. Read some reviews, take some testrides and just go with what you like. You will manage the rest automatically. This is all I would like to say. Bye.Read More

*cough* Actually I switched teams-- changed back to Honda. Though the R15 is a great bike, I am not convinced by 'Yamaha'. Their philosophy of motorcycling-- derived from their whole range of motorcycles [India and abroad], press releases, attitude to racing-- does not seem to reflect the ideal of... motorcycling in its truest sense. They seem to be driven more by competition than the desire to create good motorbikes. And their sales centres in India, their service stations, their marketing idea of refusing test rides labelling the R15 as a premium bike-- all show that their respect and reach for the customer is low. The bike is awesome [especially in its subtle dual-nature and refinement] and demonstrates Yamaha's capability and dedication, but somewhere along the line I think Yamaha forgot all about the Indian riding masses. I have decided to wait for a mini Honda-CBR equivalent-- if it ever comes. The bike still has my thumbs-up; though, in the aftermath, I would like to add that it handles too well for its power delivery making the riding experience a bit damp. A little more power would make it more balanced overall for a sport-bike-- and don't prelaunch rumours, ECU update rumours, and the 15bhp output of the relative YZFR125 suggest the same?Read More

I did format it before posting. It seems to have lost its formatting, though. I shall format it again. Thanks, Karthik.

[Disclaimer: This write up only stresses on the differences between the old CBZ and the new Extreme model] Seven years on and I find myself on the CBZ Extreme-- the supposed avatar of the CBZ. Having known the CBZ for so many years, I felt well positioned to differentiate it from the older on...Read more

[Not so much a review as a writeup] This story begins in a mechanic workshop. I asked my mechanic-- "How's the Pulsar? Everybody says its awesome; maybe I should go for it!" "Pulsar? Disgusting bike!" "What!" "I have no idea what Bajaj means by R&D. The probably need R&D done on t...Read more

Awesome review! Certainly the best review of the R15 on mouthshut. You've blown us away-- with your approach towards the technical stuff and the balance you achieved overall with your personal-feeling touches. And the additonal humour over all this makes this a must-read review. Thank you.

haha, Lui.Sensai; your comments, I think, are better than your reviews! Your comment must be the funniest on mouthshut. It had me laughing on and on... Oh, no point commenting on the review.

Got all excited seeing the bike on the Hero Honda website; and reading the reviews. The reviews were good, and the website was fancy enough with disco tunes to make the bike look even better. [Has anybody noticed-- the HH websites are designed really well] "If it's good I'll trade my bike in for...Read more

And.I was away- on the 220 with a pillon. The bike feels big, more like the Karizma, but not so laid-back as the latter. The seating was slightly different from the 200; not as crouchy as the 200, a little more relaxed. The clip-ons seemed to keep my hands closer than usual. The mirrors looked f...Read more

Yes, Honda is already here. Did you guys even notice?... The looks are stunning indeed-- and not from a single angle alone; and at a price of 60k, it has a lot of goodies to offer. Honda advertises it as a sport-bike; and declares that it has a high-performance engine which delivers power at ...Read more

I only had 3 rounds around my office building (which includes the basement parking lot too) on a badly maintained RTR 160, so this review can't be very useful; nevertheless, .. The bike seemed small-- even to a guy like me who is just 5' 4". I cannot imagine how a bigger guy would feel on it....Read more

Finally found myself on one at the sales centre. The riding position is.quite different. Legs back, shoulder front, hands down- maybe this was exacerbated by my height.
