I believe one should look at TATA Motors as a company to evaluate its prodcuts. I drive an Indica for last 3 years and I love the vehicle. Indica and Safari canot be compared side by side. The dealers and the service teams are a pathetic lot in Bangalore. This may not be the case with Tata motors ...alone. I am from Cochin, and I drive my car to Cochin , once in Six months to get the car serviced there. Service is excellent in Cochin. In Bangalore, I have tried Manipal motors, Prerana, and Concorde. All of them compete with each other in providing the WORST service to cutomers. You take your car for service, and the first thing which is slapped on your face is a fatty bill, with a minim um of Rs4000 written on it. If you say a screw in the bumper needs replacement, the reply you get is 'Sir the only way is to replace bumper for Rs 4000' . I am convinced that , as is the case with every business, Service teams have monthly income targets. I hate to core, having been forced to show my head to butchers. Tata is the only company who came up with the Engineernig innovation of NANO. This quality is reflected in every part of the vehicle, and thats it. nothing more. I have learned to love my vehicle (full marks to Ratan Tata) while I pity the so called 'customer service' I managed to get from dealers. Inspite of these biases I have, I too will go for Safari if I ever decide to buy an SUV. Its sexy look is very attractive. The lesson I have learned is, if you love your vehicle, be bold enough to take care of it, in your own way, come what may.Read More

I wish Emirates would do b...etter rather than aiming for the best Arabian airline which it has been holding since the last decade. I have not received the 4055 INR petty cash-as Thomas cook were not there and May I wish that amount to be transferred for the well being of a kid in the SOS village in kochi (http://www.soscvindia.org)-on my behalf as part of my 31s birthday on 31st of March when I would expect my baggage to be back-and suggest emirates to contribute more to charity work in the areas in which they are having frequent flyers. I should copy this email to the TATA head quarters at Mumbai- and to Anoop who was kind to me and to extend my thanks to Ranjith who did try to help me and to SVP Customer Affairs & Service Audit Emirates Group P.O Box 686,Dubai,UAE. who offered to sort it out on Anoop's approval. Thanks Anoop, you are a different face any way. Btw-Ranjith took me to the Emirates office in Nedumbassery tackling the CISF queries et.al and he took the copies of all the passport copies and did the paper work for releasing a petty cash of 4055... INR.Meanwhile I checked my bags to see if there was some INR to survive for the day and had found my Indian ATM card which would put me to comfort. Ranjith took all the charge and he prepared the paper work in 20 mins and I contacted my local address and told about the change of plan and booked a prepaid taxi to travel there-so that I can collect my baggage by 10:30 on 31st and drive to TVM for a meeting that PM. So it was all set and Ranjith finished the paper work and he said in 5 mins I could leave-My wife said the taxi has come and I told 5 mins-unfortunately when Ranjit& I went to Thomas cook counter they had popped out for lunch- We waited for 15 mins with Ranjith trying to contact every one for the Thomas cook bloke's number and the CISF got back to me. The Soldier asked me to vacate the lounge with a mocking face and I told Ranjith I wish to move since had found my Indian ATM card. I walked to the Taxi counter and my wife and kid were standing with an unhappy face and it seem the cab fellow was unhappy about the waiting time and when I walked to the cab his fellow colleague mockingly blasted me about the waiting time –Then I told him in Malayalam-'Chetta savathil kuthalle' (translated as 'I am already a dead body-don't prick me again'- To my surprise he apologized and took the baggage from me and loaded in the cab. The cabby quizzed me about what my problems were and I told that I am no more a happy man traveling by Emirates-but I can pay 100 quid's tip to turn away his unhappiness. So we boarded at DXB and caught our early morning flight to COK. This was surprisingly great and the staffs were lovely. We landed at COK earlier than planned by 30 mins and were waiting for our baggage. This wait went for about an hr and we had received 2 out of 3 checked in baggage's-We checked wi...th the team onsite and the said there were some hints that some baggage are missed and I need to raise a Property Irregularity Report-which I did and met Ranjit who is the Emirates services representative-He empathized with me and gave me some good words and said I can expect the luggage on 31st Monday- I told the fact that all ours dress is in that bag and I am supposed to travel to TVM for a meeting tomorrow. Then I was told that I had to come and collect the luggage as the customs would prefer that. I then said I won't mind to give a ring to my colleagues and do a re plan giving a chain impact on my 7 day Kerala trip. I request Ranjit if I could get some contact of a senior person at COK who I could speak about the nuances that happened in the overall journey and I told him that I have no personal issues with the baggage matter although all my clothes are inside that, but tried to quiz him about a possibility of getting some quick INR so that I can buy a proper dres to wear next day when I come back to collect the baggage. –(31stof March 30, 2008 being my 31st birthday.) He said there was no such policy to help if I had lost just one baggage-and this facility is there only when all the baggage's are lost- Any common man would dare to fly with such an airline though.
