I booked a room online on Hotels.com, for my sister 30 mins ago, at the Intercontinental Marine Drive as she was stranded at Churchgate and unable to go home to Borivali due to the heavy rains. By mistake, I booked her for tomorrow's date which I realised in 30 secs. The amount was already debit...Read more

Dear All, I finally got delivery of the car on June 6th 2014, 11 months after booking it. The initial driving was all done by me, later for the last 2 months, it is being driven by me, my wife and my chauffeur. Driving the car (I have the 1.5 AT titanium Petrol version) is a delight..... it is slugg...ish to start with but once the torque kicks in, the pick-up is superb with a typical SUV-ish roar of the engine. One can reduce the inertia by slipping into Sports mode where the pick-up is faster. I use it for approximately 50-60 km of driving on Mumbai city roads every day. It is giving me about 10-12 km/litre in the city (mumbai traffic) and upto 15 km/litre on a free highway or on the expressway (to Pune etc). The handling is excellent and the car feels sturdy and well balanced when one is in the driver's seat. Sitting behind is another issue altogether...... it will accommodate 3 adults with difficulty,2 is comfortable. The seat cushions are stiff and slightly uncomfortable and one sits quite upright at all times. Bumpy roads and pot-holes can be fully felt IN THE BACK SEAT...... one shakes and moves quite a bit, so the suspension is definitely quite stiff as one experiences it in the backseat. One big issue is the unexplained absence of any high holding handle or strap for the backseat passenger.... perhaps due to the positioning of the airbags.... this is quite unexpected and one tends to reach for the support and not find it. Boot space is adequate but not as much as in a sedan or large SUV. Another issue is the door opening horizontally outwards.... this necessitates that there should be lots and lots of space BEHIND the car before the door can be opened fully to extricate luggage. It is often an issue in a tight parking space. There are lots of minor whistles and bells such as SYNC for bluetooth phone support and a good music system. Lack of GPS, not included as default even in the top version is unexpected and disappointing. Good car but not great. Read More

I agree with you completely. I was told recently that the dealer is receiving 4 cars a month in the Model I have booked and that it would still take another 4-5 months before my turn came... and this after booking the car 3 days after its launch. I agree with you entirely. I was unaware of the reduction in features in the Titanium model.....is that true? If so, it is shockingly unprofessional. I think Indian consumers should boycott their products.... when it hits the financial bottom-line, they will come to their senses.

Dear Akash It's a small world, brother. Let's discuss this in LHHH in detail. For the benefit of our friends on mouthshut though, I think we need to discuss your concerns. The civic is a luxury city car. It shouldnt be expected to be a racer. It's also heavier than your viva crdi so it's expected... to be a little slower in response. It does have a slight drag when the engine's cold (dont ask me why with the modern technology and computer driven engines etc ) but not afterwards. I revel in leaving traffic behind at signals when I rev up ( not that I do that irresponsibly !!!). Looks wise, nothing to beat the civic. Also consider that it's slightly low slung and you have to be careful on speedbreakers. Clutch is a bit of a hassle if ur a sub-conscious clutch rider. Mine gave way at 1 yr although I protest strongly on the clutch rider bit as I am not. Otherwise, civic for sure. Dont treat this as gospel though, I am a far better plastic surgeon than an expert on cars !!! Dr Milind WaghRead More

Dear M_E6, Sorry for the delay in replying to you. I haven't had any problems with the brakes, in fact sometimes I feel they are a little too sensitive. The suspension is not quite as good as the Ford Fiesta or the Skoda but should not maligned as much as rumors suggest. I (and I read about other ow...ners as well) have had problems with the clutch plate which gave way after about 14 months and roughly 9,500 kms driving. I am not really a habitual clutch-rider although I was made out to be by the workshop mechanic and was told that the clutch was considered a wear-and-tear part and not covered under the 2 yr warranty. Had to fork out Rs 9,500 for replacement. A pity.Read More

We all research the specifications of phones we wish to buy. I wish the reviewer was more elaborate on the pros and cons of this phone which would help others to make an informed choice about its features and lacunae.
