for cryin out loud bring them back down to earth with regular human beings and treat them like normal people. after all this kind of treatment is what has lead our cricketers to beleive they have a god given right to have a place in the team, rather than earn it. seriously to all the news channels, ...and newspapers, please stop wasting your ink and viewers electicety by making them listen to and read such nonsense. try reporting on more important issues like high crime rates. finally reason 5 - which is sadly 'we the people' its true. we have so many expectations from our currents sports stars. but one question to you all indian fans. why??? what is the point??. why do we place so much burden on to their shoulders, and why do we increase that burden by doing silly things like burning their pictures and throwing bricks and stones at the players homes. what will that achieve. doing such things, is completely manic, its shameful, and a form of hooliganism. causing the players to fear for their safety is not the way to go. i understand that all my fellow indians strive for their country to do well in the sports arena, but why so many expectations on 11 guys who dont seem to care about the country's prestige at all, and by placing so many expectations it all boils to the point where the players are not playing for their country's pride, but for the appeasment of general public and to avoid negative reaction. and that will just make matters worse. india need more sportsmen to share that burden, to make it more easier for the cricketers, and give the country more to hope for rather than just cricket. so why not aim for football. their is more growing interest of football in india, so why cant the sports ministers help in building an indian national football team. oh and as for sania mirza, please spare me the rants about her talent, she will always be talented but she will never use her talent. and thats the indian problem.Read More

im not an india fan, but tho couldnt help laugh at your 'skinny' comments. have u seen tendulkar, sehwag, and dhoni. theyre all overweight. but the rest however are stick thin. they need to be like the west indies in the fitness department, they all look fairly built and fit, and very strong. bu...t anyway, i think no matter what happens i think the indian team will always fail at the big stages. and their is one reason for that and that is the players huge egos. the hype that is created around them is unbelievable. these players walk out on the pitch thinking no matter what happens they have a god given right to play for their national team even if they lose. the fact is this team does have alot of talent, but players lose thier focus on their cricket by focusing more on their celebrity status which is why they are not so great, they get big headed and think its ok for them to mistakes, because they think that their place in the team is guaranteed for a number of years. if the likes of sehwag, and dhoni can call pull themselves away from the media for at least two seconds, maybe they can be more consistent. but however knowing these lot, it wont happen. we should forget about cricket, why we dont we try to organise a decent national football team, by founding talented footballers. maybe that way india will stake a bigger place in the sporting world rather than jus becos of its cricket, which theyre not that good at anyway.Read More

good review. isnt it quite disgraceful what ekta are doing. the fact remains that the large majority of people in india are uneducated. unlike us who have logic, THEY will buy all this crap that comes on (especially the housewives) and watch it just to keep themselves remotely entertained in the... boring little lives. it therefore has a negative impact on their mindset. they will adopt such beliefs and such values and such opinions that is ruining modern society even today, and they will apply it to their everyday lives. and once these kind of viewers mutiply across the nation, it can have a bad impact on society as it is these people that form society, its culture and its norms. and that can only mean doom for us. ekta is just exploiting these people because they know that these people dont think about the unrealism of the show, they just want to watch it for entertainment regardless of how stupid the show is. they dont care as long as they get high ratings and therefore alot of cash. ekta should try to be helpful and show something that is real, not stereotyped, and not biased, and something that this society needs to see and learn. but no they just dont care. ekta is a disgrace to this nation and all indians worldwide. and they will continue to disgrace themsleves until one day nobody decides to watch their serials which i believe will never happen.Read More

sorry but u got some facts wrong their mate. srk doesnt start missing kajol when rani dies. there is no scene that actually shows that, in fact its almost as he has forgotten her completely. the film never once shows him missing her. he does fall in love with her only after his daughter tries to sea...rch for her. the daughter and mother dont search for her because they feel srk loves her, they search for her because of rani's letter which asked the daughter to find kajol for her father. and she was just fulfilling her request. srk does eventually fall in love with only after they reunite. in a sense its pretty wierd how he can think of another woman when he has a daughter but it is slightly justified when u look at the deep meaningful relationship that kajol and srk shared, and also the daughter was smitten by her. so all in all their was really nothing wrong. i personally have never enjoyed the majority of srk films especially his rona dhona shows. but this one is a classic, it was different which was good about it. but their were a few minor flaws like for example who on their deathbed would write a letter for their child on her 8th birthday to find a woman that could be possibly anywhere on the planet. i mean come on how can u expect an eight year old to be that smart.Read More

youre right. adultery, divorce and etc does happen in real life, everybody knows that, it even happens in india. none of the critcs on MS or elsewhere are saying that it doesnt. our complaint simply is based on the fact that the story was poorly executed. thats all. like for example in rani's cas...e, why the hell would you go out with someone for so long and then decide to marry them, when you dont even love them. and secondly wat was it about abhisek that she found immature. many women will die to have a husband who loves them unconditionally as he did to rani. he played a very mature character in my opinion. and then moving onto srk's marriage. i didnt understand where the problem really lied. i didnt really see it as a loveless marriage?? i didnt really see why srk had to step outside the box, and get tangled with rani. i dont think his problem was the lack of love he recieved from his wife, but his problem was really himself and his insecurities. he was jealous of his wife now that she wore the pants, and he was frustrated by his own inability to do anything because he is physically disabled. i think thats wat was the root of his problems, his marriage did not seem like the root at all. but yet kj tried to make us think otherwise, but he didnt, instead he leaves us baffled and unconvinced. and yeah i can also understand parents venting their everyday sorrows on their kids. but srk's anger at his son is ridiculous. how can a father disregard his son so much, that he would enter into an affair without even thinkin about the long term consequences on his son. and in most parts of the movie the child is completely ignored. the child plays a vital part in marriage problems. why wasnt he given more importance. this is why i and many others hated it. and i wont say u have done a bad job on your revu. but i think you could have written a bit more to explain why u thought it was a 'masterpiece'Read More

the serial sucks. its probably one of the worst. down here in the uk. all we can see is a guy and a girl, with a kid, trying to get married, but its not easy because poor old mamta was fake married to sid. and now he's dead so she's a fake widow. and now all confusion has been cleared, she wasnt mar...ried to sid, and now she can marry the love of her life...but wait..their's another twist, the astrologer said that whoever marries mamta will die very quickly. oh no, wy is fate so cruel?? wat a load of crap. and the whole mothery going on trying to make it look like a child needs the mother more than the father, is exactly the thing that needs to be stopped from being shown on indian tv. its annoying, stereotypical and tries to insinuate that a mother is far more important than a father in a child's life. to sum it up, its a pathetic show. and does not even have a half decent or even remotely interesting storyline.Read More

well i guess, trying to pinpoint the root of the problem is difficult. all in all mankind is to blame for whatever is happening. we reap what we sow, and we sow what we reap. as for chivalry, again nice point, but the people who talk about chivalry are unaware that it harms the notion of equalit...y. and only talk about it, in a desperate attempt to stop crime, becos they believe thier is no other way. but however i agree with your point, chivalry is really not needed. as for your point in religion. i think you are wrong on that. i dont think people use religion as a clutch, they use god as their clutch, its not the idea of religion that gets them through tough times, but its acknowledgement of the fact that their is somebody more powerful who is looking down on them, and supporting them no matter what, that person who always be their friend when they have nobody else to look to. i believe god and religion are two seperate things. religion divides society, but its god who brings it together. i think religion has an adverse effect on uneducated people, as they are not able to think logically about religous views. they seem to accept everything about religion almost immediately, because they beleive that they have no other choice. therefore they fail understand the moral concepts of what they learn, the only thing they understand is right and wrong but they are not able to understand why things are wrong and why they are right. its almost as if religion has become brainwashing system for the uneducated. and a religion so full of flaws can therefore lead to uneducated people becoming very narrow minded, and this therefore has a negative effect on society. but however mankind is to blame for the downfall of religion. for aeons they have been giving the responsibility of imparting spiritual knowledge, but however they have manipulated religion for selfish motives, and thereby and thereby corrupting religion, with fake beliefs and immoral ideals.Read More

p.s good point about the chivalry bit. that is correct. but i guess many people who believe in, and talk about chivalry, are not saying it with the intention that women are weak and NEED to be looked after. but are saying it because they know, that evil will never leave the world. perverts and bad p...eople will always exist and women will be the victims, and chivalry is needed to protect them from that situation. they think its the only way. they dont believe that women have the physical strength to stop a man raping her, so they believe men need to stand up more and protect the females. its seems a bit odd, what i am trying to say. i understand that chivalry, does unintenionally imply that women need to be looked after, but i guess in a world like this, we have no choice but to look to chivalry. u cant really say a woman walking dwon the street alone sudenly approached by perverts who are about to commit a disgusting act, will be able to protect herself in that situation. for this reason, isnt chivalry neccesary what do u say to thatRead More

thanx for replyin to my comment. the part about you said about culture. i understand what you are saying. i think the main problem lies in religion. its religion that has taught us to respect women, but the thing it does sometimes is pinpoint that both sexes should behave in certain ways, thereby un...intentionally enlarging the equality barrier. it has continously made reference to 'ideal wives' and how they should worship their husband. it has alot of stories about kings who had many wives just in order to give birth to a son, for e.g look at the mahabharata, or ramayan. and these kind of things were not even discouraged one bit, as far as i know. it is this kind of thing that has become the cause of the problem, because you'll find alot uneducated people around the country who tend to be very narrow minded, and at the same time firm believers in the law of religion, and they beleive that any act that religion has not discouraged in the past is not a wrong, and if great men like dashrath or king pandu married several wives then so can they, its not wrong, women are meant to be treated that way. i for one have never believed in religion, and to be honest i dont see a point in it. over centuries religion has been continously misunderstood and misinterpreted, and has become a laughing stock. so much inconsistencies, so many immoral points shown in ways to make us beleive it is not.scientists can so easily find flaws these days, u cant really say they are wrong. its not just hinduism, its every religion, which is why i never follow any religion. i follow my own moral standard of code, i follow my own conscience, and on top of that i beleive in my own god, a god which i define in a different light than which religion does. i think this is the reason for why i am a better person, i dont waste my life following rules which i have no proof are valid and true, and logically understandable. thats why im a better person, and willing to lay my life down to fight evilRead More

no offence but what the hell are you on. ok fine u found the movie good, but their is no need to call us narrow minded. if u read the bad reviews this film has got, then read it carefully. we have no problem with the theme, and concept of the film, but the reason for why it was so criticised is not ...because of the message, but because of the terrible execution of the film and sloppy direction. i think many of us couldnt wait for this film to be released, because i think we all were quite excited about the subject karan was tackling. but to our dissapointment he just didnt do a good job, and the message was a little messed up in the end. one of the main weaknesses was the fact that their was nothing so convincing to make us believe both marriages were breaking up. their was also nothing so convincing about shahrukh's love for rani, it seemed like a farcical relationship. and the worst part was shahrukh's character, it was a joke, the audience failed to understand what his real problem was. was he upset because rhea had no time for him in the marriage, or was he simply jealous now that rhea wore the pants in the house, or was he upset about his own helplessness and his disability. shahrukh's anger was hardly related to marriage problems, and lack of love in his life, it was fairly obvious that he was simply mad at himself, but he took it out on his marriage. and also why the hell was he so angry at his kid, i mean come on how can somebody treat their kid like that. how do you expect us to beleive that a father can become so selfish that he goes and has an affair with another woman without even thinking about his child, and the effect this could have on him. on top of that, please explain to me what it was about rani that he found attractive. the character she played was a complete loser. and why was rani so attracted to srk, when he was so annoying and bitter. we're not narrow minded. we are intelligent beings. and have the logic to find faults in films.Read More

great stuff man. i dont know about some of the stories u wrote on their as i am an NRI, and so dont really know much about whats going on in india, but i know for a fact that cruelty to women is just getting worse by the day. i felt sickened a couple of days on independence day. people showi...ng pride and passion for their country singing their hearts and saying our country is the best in the world. how can people say that when the symbol of womanhood in our country is being shred to pieces by our very own men. its the people that make the country great, they are the soul of the country, and if they soul is so tainted whats left to be proud about this country. i certainly am not. evrything u said in that review was correct. but i blame many other things for this abuse towards woman, corruption, greed, prostitution, and a stereotypical culture that puts woman in the back row. sorry but i have never been a fan of indian culture and never will be, i think it has been the main reason for the plight of woman in india and many other similar societies. the other problem is that woman are not ruthless enough, they allow themselves to be dominated by men. and our cultural view on women doesnt help either, its all a load of crap. chivalry is dead, men are no longer men. the current justice system does not help in dishing out the right punishment. raping someone is worser than murder, rape means death of the soul. anybody who does that, doesnt deserve forgiveness. putting such an evil person behind steel bars for 30 or 40 years is not enough, i say we adopt some of the severe punishments that rapists have to go through in some of the arab states by chopping their arms off, sounds just about rite if u ask me. but if it were up to me, i would chop of their little pleasure toys. sorry, if i was a bit too extreme their. i am just so angry. wat can we do? why are we so helpless?? why cant we protect our women?? for the first time i am ashamed of being a manRead More

good review. but their is a problem with your review that i cant help but point out. first of all why blame porn and prostitution. the fault here does not lie in these two things. think about it logically pron and prostitution are not the evils, it is simply the work of catastrophic human mind. thin...k about it, would prostitution exist if men could learn to control themselves? no it wouldnt. would porn exist if men had the willpower to look away from this revolting images?, no it wouldnt. porn does not force anybody to watch it, it merely tempts us, prostitution does not force anybody to have sex with prostitute in exchange for money, it also merely tempts men. but it is our responsibility not to give in. and also the bit about what you said about the 60 year old man, raping a 5 year old girl, why are you blaming porn? porn didnt do anything to him, he did it to himself, where was his self control gone? porn does not control the human mind, we ourselves do, why blame porn for our own stupidity. i know this sounds strange but i beleive porn and prostitution is a test of human power, those who succumb to it are seriously corrupted, but those look away are stronger inside. if evils do not exist then man will never learn to be stronger. closing down brothels and banning porn wont help at all, the problem is the human mind, thats what needs to be fixed. if it isnt then nothing will change. porn and prostitution exists because of the sexual needs of men, but if men can control themselves neither will exist. throwing out people from cafes for looking at porn, really doesnt help, as it wont stop them from going elsewhere to find porn. but let me tell you something in the world that we live in, vice has completely taken over, money and sex has complete power. men want sex, women want money and theyll do anything for that money, simple as that, i doubt things will ever change. the best we can do is to raise our children the right way.Read More

good rev. to be honest i've not been totally impressed with the world cup so far. i admit they have been so good matches, czech v ghana, italy v usa, germany v poland, spain v tunisia, aussie v brazil, aussie v japan, but they havent been any spectacular ones. argentina v serbia was a fine display o...f football at its best, but it was one sided. and wats dissapointing is that the top two favourites are playing poorly. england have been abysmal, and brazil just look average, and even ronaldinho's presence hasnt really been felt. its clear right now that the two top teams at the tournament are spain and argentina, and i wouldnt be surprised if either won. the way they are playin they could sweep off brazil and england.Read More
