Hi Tina Totally agree with the thoughts you have posted here. Life is dull w/o friends as happiness is multiplied by sharing it with them.

Hi MG Some friends and I used to sit under the open sky after dinner and stare at the stars in our school days - the ideas followed naturally... Thanks for bringing back the memories. Loved the story... The prize was well deserved! Congratulations!!

The Grateful Pen... but with Food

Dec 03, 2008 12:52 PM (Updated Dec 03, 2008 12:54 PM)

Disaster! The experiment was a disaster. I did everything mentioned in the recipe and yet the final product came out tasting wierd. A post-analysis was in order! A quick back track of my steps revealed that I used all the ingredients in the correct measure, but the main ingredient used by me w...as only half the quantity mentioned in your post! The result was - I ended up making ’’Honey-Pepper Butternut Squash Concentrate!’’. If one took that minor mis-calculation into consideration, i’d say the final outcome was not too shabby! :-)) Thank you again for the recipe. I shall be more vigilant next year.Read More

A year of 30...

Dec 03, 2008 12:46 PM (Updated Dec 03, 2008 12:48 PM)

MG you can do No 4? I am surprised...! I cannot tell any woman’s age by looking at them... I once mistook a 39 year old mother of 3 to be a just-out-of-college-freshly-graduate. Yeah! Surprisingly, I find women to be younger looking when they wear no makeup (perhaps they are really good with m...akeup?). No doubt that the mixture of maturity and spunkiness is refreshing at that age. Although for me decade changes are kinda terrifying in some uncanny way. All I can say is "Women are like fine wine... they only get better with age" - Happy Birthday & Join the club !!!Read More

Its here! Now that I know the final product is not easily perishable, chances of me cooking the squash are bright! More to follow... watch this space. And yes, Thanks for the info MG. Happy Thanksgiving to you. Enjoy your day - Spike

Hello MG After cooking, how long can the dish be stored? Does it have to be eaten ASAP or can it be prepared in advance?

Food for thought… and Prose

Hello Meredith! You are what you eat.... If that saying is to be believed, food inspires not only writing but everything that we do in life. A girl I was once dating could not tell when she was hungry. So when she would get angry or grumpy, 90% of the times she was just hungry - once I figured ...that out about her, I used to take her out to eat everytime she was in a bad mood and lo behold, the grumpiness vanished once she had food in her tummy.Read More

! That was seriously funny! deductions - the bot has to be a female as it asked ''Do you have something for me ?''... parting question - Can J be a bot?

@ Nidhi I believe the hawkers sell these only on republic day and independence day. I personally dont buy the flag as I know where they would end up. Instead my family has one made out of khadi that we reuse each year and keep it aside after hoisting it as per the Indian Laws of flag hoisting. ... I also dont buy clay idols on Ganesh festival because I know where they would end up - desecrated on a beach next to dog and human poop. Change starts from one-self just as charity begins at home!Read More

Formal protest - I

Sep 26, 2008 11:45 AM

@ monalisa see above for ''trade'' same for ''commercial'' I had even objected when I gifted a cake to a friend and someone gifted a chappal that was virtually on my cake! Because food and shoes should not be next to each other. Now we can all be Indians and say ''chalta hai'', but I think... it is perfectly ok to take a stance if you feel something was not right - and thats my take on it.Read More

@ Javed If a person has ''earned'' the points by writing, and then he uses the points to ''buy'' the gifts, it is commercial as there is ''buying'' involved, albeit virtual. But then so is the protest and so is the flag.
