thanks for the comments guys. Sudipto: it doesn't matter if it's a freebie or not. Service is service. So, correct me if i'm wrong but if you got a free ticket on any airline, you'd be ok if they crash, have no security measures or have food that makes you ill just by looking at it? And using po...ints to get room nights is not free :-) you have to have paid many many nights at Conrad properties all over the world to get a platinum status :-) remember one golden rule in life: there is no such thing as a free lunch ;-) Stay safe :-)Read More

Mouthshut disappointed me

Mar 13, 2008 11:10 AM

Final say. Dear Mouthshut, Jasmine and whoever bothered to comment here: This is my take. being a member of http://www.mouthshut.com, I took part in a contest. I was told that I won a mobile phone. I was also told what model and make I won. For a few months after the contest results were declared,... I didn't hear from http://www.mouthshut.com. I wrote to one of the employees ad he wrote back saying that these things take time and that I would get my gift. Since this contest took place in the last few months of 2007, I found it very strange that by 2008 I hadn't received my prize. So I wrote back to http://www.mouthshut.com. This time I got a reply saying that the mobile phone had be delivered and that I had signed for it. I was upset. For a couple of reasons: 1. If I won something - whether it's a mobile phone or a cap - I won it. Fair and square. I deserve the prize. 2. If a member writes to you saying that he/she has not received the prize, you should investigate. This you did. You found that there was a signature on the courier receipt and there was a date of delivery. 3. All I wrote to you was that firstly, I was out of India at the time (and I have boarding passes and tickets to prove it.)Secondly, during that period no one was staying in my home.Thirdly the signature on the courier receipt is not mine. You can verify this with any bank document or official paper that has my signature on it. As a simple http://www.mouthshut.com user - what am I supposed to do? I just informed you that this has happened. Since you can not guarantee that a prize winner will indeed get the prize after a contest, I have made a personal decision not to use your website again. I in fact would like you to delete my profile and reviews from the site. Thank you. I consider this matter closed.Read More

So I guess mouth shut has shut me out :o) enidhi: Yes! Dekhona!! Sorry I got the thing mixed up! There was a contest about Ranbir Kapoor & Shahrukh Khan... Anyway.... the thing is that the mobiles are some rotten motorolla basic model that they were to give me.... I would have passed it ...on to someone...but what got me angry is that they claim that I have signed for the phone..... I wasn't even there and the signature is not mine either! If you dont want to give the prize - say it. Don't make accusations at others. Thats my point.Read More

Spike: It depends what yhou order. But you must remember... places like Blue Ginger are not restaurants one goes to for a casual bite. It is a place that is special.... so if it's your birthday or anniversary - it's perfect. And at times like that who's counting? But yes...if you don't drink you ca...n say a non veg main course is about 500 - 600 where as a veg main course could be anything between 300 - 400.... so you can figure out the expense that way....Read More

Thanks for the comments guys. Cool Tanmay: Maybe I came across wrong. I was not Shahrukh bashing really. Ok...actually I was :o) But don't get me wrong - I like SRK. What's not to like? But I donn't think he's a versatile actor. He's good with one genre of cinema - drama. He can not pull off c...omedy or even action convincingly. That doesn't make him bad! Our 1 Billion plus population loves him!Not to mention all his fans abroad. I just think he needs gimmicks like 6 pack abs and one or two Kara Johan flicks to keep him going. CHECK THIS OUT GUYS. The following two messages are a response from makemytrip.com & my response to their response - go figure: Dear Customer, Thankyou for bring your concern to our notice. We are aware of certain challenges on the chat medium however a non response to your quesry is totally una...cceptable. Pleas give a time convenient to speak to you and assure this is resolved to your satisfaction. Regards Regards Geeta Eral Manager - Customer Delight My response to Ms. Eral: Dear Ms Eral, While I thank you and appreciate your effort in resolving my issue, I would like you to understand that just being aware of of certain challenges on your chat medium is not good enough. You have to do something about it. Today's buyer is more quality conscious than ever before and you have an uphill battle ahead. By keeping either incompetant or disinterested staff will serve no other purpose except reviews like mine. I would like to also inform you that true to my word, I did give makemytrip.com another go - and I was given a fare that was almost 20% higher than the airline was offering on their website!! I told your operator this and also reminded her of your promise of paying the difference to me should I be able to get a cheaper ticket elsewhere - to which she replied - ok, ma'am then maybe it's better you book directly! LOL!I couldn't believe she said that! So, my friend, you don't just have 'certain challenges' ahead - you got a war! Best of luck! You're going to need it. Thanks for writing though. Read More

psyxx: HUH???? you've lost interest in food??? WHY!!?? Why??! Why would someone do that!?? YOu have dropped several notches in my opinion of you! :-P :-) Seriously? YOu've lost interest in food? Sigh... when will that EVER happen to me?? Ipshonlu: Thanks for writing in! The BEST ( and I swear) pa...sta in India is in a restaurant in Delhi called The Big Chill. I've reviewed it... so go and check it out of you're in Delhi or visiting - trust me - you will be indebted to me forever! hhhaha Nandeetaoberoisharma: MAN!! What a LOOOOOng handle!!! LOL!! Thanks for the compliments - you got me blushing! I don't really se myself as much of a writer so if someone says they like what I write then ... YAY!!!!!! :-) Cousin2: Thanks for reading the review. I feel that the smaller , lesser known restaurants have much better food anyway! It's ridiculous - how much they charge for a meal at some places - one could feed a small African nation in that much money :-S Anyway I recommended the place because the food and portion size was decent ( at least the pasta and risotto) but I Gave it a 2 star rating because I'd be damned if I'd give a rascist thief one more of my precious stars:-D... Seriously, in todays date of intense compitition and customer service - why would I go there to get insulted and ignored?? And all that for a bowl of pasta - nah! I'll pass. Besides, the pasta recipe I learned from my Italian buddy is much better and it comes with no side serving of disdain :-)Read More
