My string of bad experiences continues with HDFC standard life.
My cheque for my money back policy, due in November 2006, has been delayed. No one in HDFC standard life knows where the cheque is. Imagine the state of affairs in the HDFC standard life company - this is a regular money back cheque....
If they cannot figure out such simple things, how do you expect them to react in case of any unfortunate incident.
Here is the chain of events -
1. I get in touch with my HDFC standard life insurance adviser, get her the authorizing letter (for collecting my money back cheque). This is in Oct 2006.
2. she approaches the HDFC standard life company, the company promises to get her the cheque on the stipulated date. This is in Nov 2006
3. It has been more then 3 months and my Insurance adviser is still running from pillar to post for my cheque.
Compare this with LIC (i have another money back policy from LIC), the LIC cheque is received ay my right address 10 days in advance.
For God's sake, Do NOT trust HDFC standard life, I am going the LIC way.
For all the advertisements and other things that private insurance companies do, there is once thing that they will lack - 'Trust' - this is aptly demonstrated in my issue.

I had extremly high regard for HDFC life insurance company. Refer the mail below that I have written to HDFC Life Insurance company - and till date there has been no reply on the same.
I will seriously say that LIC is much better then HDFC life insurance company

I have invested in Reliance Pharma and the returns have been good so far.
I have the following issues
a) It is oNLY on my requesting them that they send me monthly or quarterly statements
b) There was virtually no communication from their side for 3 months till i called them asking for a statme...nt
The reliance mutual funds are managed by Reliance capital asset management company. This company also has a complicated share holding pattern. It has numerous invetsments in Reliance group companies.
Depending upon who wins the fatricidal war at reliance , the future of reliance capital will be decided.Read More

1. How come metlife can offer
a) gauranteed additions of 60 rs per thpusand on children policy
b) 100 rs per thousand on money back policy?
When muchmore financially stable companies like ICICI and HDFC are not able to offer, how come metlife can offer it

I agree with the points that you have mentioned.
But here are my observations -
a) I am impressed by the regular couriers that i get from HDFC sec ( the very next day) when i execute trades from the web sites. I have shifted my address twice and the couriers reach me pretty regulalry. This is ...amazing.
b) HDFC enjoys a status and a name that can be cause of envy among others . It is led by pack of professionals and not by lalas.
c) In some ways , the web site has disappointed me and i hope they reorganize the same along better lines.
