great review...just one point where our views differ....Nightswimming is beautiful...its infact the tops in my in my Non-Beatles-Lennon list but its never been relaxing for me...its therepeutic because its immensely sad... Nightswimming deserves a quiet night. I'm not sure all these people under...stand. It's not like years ago, The fear of getting caught, of recklessness and water. They cannot see me naked. These things, they go away, replaced by everyday. and this one...... You, I thought I knew you. You I cannot judge. You, I thought you knew me, this one laughing quietly underneath my breath. Nightswimming. The photograph reflects, every streetlight a reminder. Nightswimming deserves a quiet night, deserves a quiet night. Read More

well...i'm glad you liked the movie...i didn't.....if i looked at it from a purely entertainment point of view...it drags most of the time....and if i look at it from the point of view of an indian...i just don't understand what Deepa Mehta was trying to prove with all that cleverly place mushy sent...imentality...was she trying to evoke humour?? (it didn't tickle my bones!!) or is it about all those 'sad case' indians living abroad who just can't see beyond their hackeneyed traditions.....or is it that Deepa had the money and she could make what she wanted to because she was Deepa Mehta....i was not amused. A point in case is Bend it like Beckham....i loved it...there were no brilliant things being done in the movie but wasn't it an eye-opener apart from being an enetertainer? Read More

keep it up maan....!!! there is also sth i'd like to add here...apart from MNC's, indian companies are also utilising this cheap labour trend..i work for an indian s/w co which charges 14 dollars an hour from the client for my work and i don't get a salary which comes anywhere near that....

Paul lived in a mental hospital for most of his teenage life....will he not know what it's like to suffer? this book seems idealistic and sometimes overtly romantic but i believe the writer deliberatley wrote it this way...it may not be very helpful for cynics (i'm in that category!) but if it is a ...source of pleasure for a great multitude then it has served it's purpose.....even i have to admit that parts of this book were highly enlightening. i've highly recommended your review just for that 'kamikaze dive'.....keep writing and do elaborate....it'll help the cause...Read More

The Who : Substitute Here comes the WHO....breaking their guitars, bringing down the stage, Nick Moon drumming like a super fast train and Pete Townshed telling everyone that their songs don't mean a thing after everyone gets affected!!!! This one is a classic WHO song....Townshed claims that th...e lyrics don't mean a thing but they can mean a lot if you want it that way: I was born with a plastic spoon in my mouth The north side of my town faced east and the east was facing south And now you dare to look me in the eye Those crocodile tears are what you cry If it's a genuine problem you won't try To work it out at all, just pass it by, pass it by Substitute me for him Substitute my coke for gin Substitute you for my mum At least I'll get my washing done' Traffic: Shanghai Noodle Factory When you're nowhere and doin's nothing then you are in a Shanghai Noodle Factory. Steve Winwood's voice seems to be coming from a deep, deep well, it surrounds and it takes you to Nowhereland. Dire Straits: Romeo and Juliet Legend has it that Clapton stopped playing the guitar whe he first heard Knopfler,'How can he play like that?' Hear this and you'll know..... Read More
