Alok, I am getting 12 kmpl on an average in the bumper to bumper city traffic with full time AC on. So, I think that is a very decent mileage for a car with 1.6 engine. It was 14 kmpl on my previous highway drive to Pondicherry.

derebail sab, I think the check up done in our place was by hebbal branch, which might be different and better from yeshwantpur. Hebbal is the older branch and higher in quality, whereas yeshwantpur is new and still establishing the trust around. May be they will improve as time passby.
Althou...gh we had gone through the bad experience at their yeshwantpur branch, we found the hebbal branch much better than any other hospitals around. We took our baby for ear piercing last week, and it was a comfortable experience.
If you have gone to ramaiah for yourself or for relatives, you will understand the difference of service like day and night. Its as equal as a government hospital.Read More

Hi guys, all are asking about the mileage, its already posted above in the last update on Feb 24, 2010. On road price is already quoted in the original post. Upgrades are done taking enough time in between. I dont believe in upgrading different things at the same time. One should feel the stock prod...uct and then upgrade only if required, thereby feeling the difference of quality after its done.
Michelin XM1 plus set of 5 costed 18250 and Plati 5 spoke alloys set of 4 costed 13000. I got an exchange value for the stock tires, 1700 X 5 = 8500. On road price and upgrades so far is close to 8 lk already. Next part is seat upgrade from fabric to stanley leather which might happen in April itself.Read More

Guys, for God’s sake dont compare Fiesta to an Indica or a Maruti 800 !! Its like you are comparing fish curry to sambhar !! I made my Fiesta fly on NH4 at 160kmph without even a single vibration. 101 horses come to full life on the 5th gear.
The myth of ’Ford vehicles costly on maintenance’ i...s no more talked about, because they have come down equal to any other segments price-wise due to the competition. Having trouble with the engine is purely luck person to person. You can have engine troubles in a M800 as well as a Skoda superb (many break-down cases are reported in team-bhp). So, its nothing to do with a brand.
Coming to resale value and second hand cars, try to avoid diesel by any chance. It can only spoil your peace of mind very soon. Used Diesel cars are more pain to maintain and heavy on your wallet too. I have many examples around me to prove this point. And the availability of Ford fiesta as second hand, its very rare to find a good one in the market. Just because: One who owns a Fiesta will not want to leave it, its a pleasure to own one and a pride to drive one.

Hi Kartik, Dzire is a lovely car, it comes loaded with lot of nice features and a real VFM car. I got a very cold response from the Maruti dealers this time, also wanted another brand for a change.
Fiesta is a different league altogether, its ranked as the best handling car below 15 lakhs and seco...nd to only Audi A4 3.2 Quattro (37+ laks). Check Autobild July 19, 2009 issue.
Mileage by many fiesta owners average to 10kmpl, probably 12-13 on highways. This is decent for a 1.6 L 101 BHP engine.Read More

Thanks to everyone. I had a very detailed report on other cars I considered before coming to Fiesta, but the limit of 7500 words in a post made me cut all of them into few lines. If anyone is considering any car that I have tested, please feel free to ask why I didnt go for it. Happy to help !

Jim Reeves is one of my favourites right from my college days. I used to listen to the 'Am I losing you?' and just weep thinking about the girl in my college who didnt care my love for her. I have most of his songs in my collection. Nice review, well written !

Its not only doctor recommendation, but also some connections at the head admin level itself that made our decision, but we got a different experience inspite of all that.

Internet usage is fine with this model without doubt. Mine is a Linux OS, which has built in (4 in one) messenger and its own browser. You can recheck with someone, if there is any issue of running the trading software, you might need to convert the OS to Win Xp which is possible without any cost if... you have a copy of XP.Read More

Subscrption was paid Rs.1500 somewhere in December 2007 and since then I have been using the 'South Jumbo' Package which comes to around Rs.310 per month. Recently I recharged to 'Semi Annual South Jumbo' which gives a discounted rate of Rs.258 per month for 6 months. Correction R S 1500 (1500 VA - 865 watts)is the model number. There is also another model R S 1000 (1000 VA - 600 watts). Now the prices have dropped a bit from what I had paid. Photo is added now, you can see the R S 1500 mentioned on the model.
