APC has a very wide range of UPS models throughout the world. I am a die-hard fan of APC since 2003 and it will remain the same above all other brands available in the market anywhere in the world. While I hear lot of complaints and curses on many other brands in the market by many friends, I thank my stars for choosing APC although it comes in the higher premium quality and price but according to me, a real Value For Money by all means.
Indian customer always want bargaining when it comes to any product. Negotiating the price is part of our blood, be it just onions from the grocery shop or a high tech gadget for the home or office. According to that mentality, APC is priced higher than most other brands. I wanted a UPS for my desktop (with an extension screen) with a minimum of 4 hours back up time in case of power failure. I considered many brands, but most of them were limited to below 2 hours at the best.
Finally the decision was easy, APC model 'Back-UPS RS-1500' was the choice for my needs. Basic 'RS-1500' series has only 2 hours back up time, therefore I prefered adding the Back -UPS Battery Pack, giving a total back up of 4 hours 30 mts. Its been bought and used since last 18 months. On completing first 3 months, I had few minor issues, on calling the support centre, they immediately replaced it with a brand new piece without any questions asked. That is what I call real 'Customer Support'. This product comes with a software called 'APC Powerchute' which displays all the status details of the UPS on your desktop toolbar. So, you know what is the power consumed, remaining charge and minutes.
Overall, its a great product from an internationally known brand with a great support centre which you can blindly trust. They wont even wait for the customer to call a second time with the same query/doubt/concern, its guranteed to be resolved before you think about calling again. When can Indian companies learn this kind of quality support for any products ?

Estimated back up time : 260 mts on an average draw of 130 watts.There are 4 power and 1 surge suppressor, total five sockets at the back of the unit. There is a circuit breaker to reset the UPS if something goes wrong. The usual phone line surge protection and the overload/replace battery indicators are built-in.
