I had rented zoom car from Delhi for by personal trip to Rishikesh, Masoori and Kanatal! Since I was using self drive car rental for the first time I was bit nervous about the service. To my surprise, it was really hassle free and convent option for people who love to drive and explore new places on their own. No tension of rented cars driver's mood and attitude.
This service is fully automated. You have to upload your license scan copy on their website, pay the rental plus Rs 5000 refundable deposit and you are ready to go. At pickup point all cars are parked in locked condition. There is just one supervisor to help you. All you have to do after reaching the pickup point is to SMS 'unlock' to provided number and your car gets unlocked remotely.
Car keys are inside the car. There is one android based smart phone inside the car plus a file having all documents. You have to fill the checklist in the provided smart phone to confirm that car condition is as shown in the photos inside the phone and all documents are in place. That's it. Now you are ready to go. Only negative point is that Zoom car pickup point though very near to Delhi airport, it was very deserted place. Even cab drivers were unaware of this place so had to face some issues to find the cab after dropping the vehicle at their pickup point.
Overall it was good and economical option to use Zoom car. For 8 full days trip I had spent only 14000 on the car rental. They also refunded the fuel cost so I had pay only 12000 as rental.
