I read reviews on Mouthshut and thought how bad could be. And I was in for more than just a bad experience.

So, I hired a zoomcar - Honda City IVTEC from the app for 3 days for a drive to Panchgani and back.

1. Delivery was on time. What they delivered was a total disappointment.

   
   




2. Dashboard not fixed. Used cellotapes to keep it in place.

   
   




3. Car was dented in at least three places, not counting the obvious scratches.

   
   




4. Shock absorbers not working. It felt like as if I was driving a Kaali Peeli Santro the whole time. And I rented the car for highway driving.

   
   




5. The headlights were working only the high beam on. Discovered this after sunset on the highway! When called ZoomCar to report issue, they suggested we repair it ourselves while we are out on a holiday. Basically, making us do what they should have done in the first place.

   
   




6. The whole car vibrated above 100kmph.

   
   




7. While returning, the headlights completely stopped working. We were thanking our stars to have planned our return during the day and not the night.

   
   




8. Emissions not checked. The car emitted black smoke.

   
   




9. The wipers didn't do their job and left the mist as is on the windshield.

   
   




10. Tight clutch and the third gear wasn't on cue.

    
    

Things that partly worked.

1. AC and doors.

Aside from above all of this, they have a million rules about how to use the car and a rule book from breathing inside the car to half clutch driving the car. They are ready to charge you a bomb for late delivery or anything that relates to a delay or rash driving. But they haven't spent a dime to maintain their cars.

After my conversation with the customer care, it definitely looks like they don't have any standards. Honestly, if I owned ZoomCars, I would be embarassed to drop off a car such as the one I drove.They do not realise that there may be kids travelling in the car and such major flaws such as faulty headlights and wipers during monsoons can cost a life.

Least they could do was to check the car thoroughly before dropping it off.

Terrible product and pathetic customer service. No solutions other than repair it yourself.

*You may have a terrific app or a website, but your product does not deliver on any count. I have rented cars before and I will never ever rent a ZoomCar. And while I write this review, I have spread the word to my friends and family as well and saved their lives.
