Wow.where do I start writing about this flick. I went to see this movie in Hollywood Theatres at 10:30pm, thinking I might have to go to sleep while watching the movie, since after watching a few recent movies including, Ready, Delhi Belly, I was not expecting much out of it. To start with, I was amazed to see Indians packing the ticket queue and the theatre. The chaos and the excitement to see the movie was everywhere. We could hardly get the tickets.
Plot - The story is about three friends who go for a bachelor trip before one of their marriage. Its about a reunion where friends overcome their past issues with one another and step forward to celebrate a new life ahead of them.
Hrithik Roshan- as Arjun. A stock trader, money maker and money minded too. A strong person with a strong will and heart. He even carries his laptop on his holiday trips and chats with his clients by pulling over the car midway too. He is that crazy about money and his career.
Very good performance as always from Hrithik. Looking smart and dashing but with a fresh look. I would say he brings the lost charm of Dhoom again with this movie. With Guzaarish, this Hrithik was perhaps lost somewhere but beware, he is back now!
Farhan Akhtar - as Imran . A writer who writes for himself as well as an advertising company. Confused about his family problems, the only motive he has for the trip is meeting his biological father and ask him why did he leave his mother years ago.
Very good performance, he has tried to live Aamir Khan of Dil Chahta Hai and make no mistakes, he stands quite close. Excellent work there after a long long time. We would love to see him in movies with this kind of COOL role.
Abhay Deol- as Kabir. The construction guy who is happily going for the bachelor party before his big day but has a few fights inside of him regarding marrying the girl who is too possessive for him to handle. He feels suffocated but is not ready to accept following the consequences which might occur later on with both families.
Exxcellent job done there too. Abhay Deol was confused with marriage in his first movie as well so nothing new to see:) but still he leaves a good taste in mouth. He did all what he could and he deserves a credit for making it through between such good actors.
Katrina Kaif - as Laila. A London based girl who takes up classes as diving instructor in her free time.
She comes with a fresh look and feel and I should say that she has improved on her acting skills too. Perhaps this should be her best acted movie till date. A very bubbly, positive and happy girl.
Kalki Koechlin - as Natasha. A ultra rich talented interior designer who is about to get married with Abhay Deol. She has looked very pretty and has acted well in her short little cute role.
Pros - Movie has many pros to start with. It is a young, yet not teen-aged and silly, enthusiastic. charming and cheerful movie. It motivates you to see whats left in future to come and not to keep on holding to whats passed away. It tells you to stay happy and see the brighter side of life.
Songs are very good especially the Senorita number where all three have sung it beautifully. It marks the debut singing of Hrithik and Abhay Deol and the song is really peppy. Besides other songs which are ultra cool too.
The cinematography is excellent with the three big and bold sports being shown, its the first of its kind.
The presentation and direction is absolutely flawless.
The movie never seems to be slow or lacking in anything. Its a fast paced yet in a controlled direction and a big hit of this year already.
Cons- To be honest, I dont see any con of the movie so far. I would love to see it again in theatre.
Summary- A must watch in today's hard paced and busy lives. Dont miss it at any cost.
