On Monday Dec-9 and Dec- 10 their service was completely crashed. They were doing some server upgrades.
The question is simple, shall I trade with a broker who charge me less brokerage but his system crashes when there is load and all my positions gets stuck, I can not book profit or I start making huge losses.
Neither there trade platform work and nor call and trade.
Their web trading tool and their mobile app was not working when the market started falling, Nifty fell almost 100 points and BankNifty around 300 points and CNX IT around 300 points.
Monday was the day when Infosys founders sold the shares. Now you are in a big trouble, you can not cut your positions since the web and mobile trading tool are not working and your positions are getting into huge losses.
In addition to that their call and Trade also stopped working. I was trying to call their Trade and call but they were not picking up the phone. It also completely crashed.
Then same situation was there on Tuesday 10-Dec, in the morning web trader worked and when market come to closing it also stopped working, people started getting server not available errors.
You can neither book profit not cut the loss making positions.
Apart from this, what makes me add is the arrogance of their executives, who in-spite understanding the gravity of situation, try to justify their positions and ready to fight with you:

Niraj,
Whether Zerodha is'trustworthy' I don't think that is a far question to ask. All clients were repeatedly informed to update the patch required.
The reason for my reply was, I am personally not use to clients complain and I take it personally. Again, if yesterday's updation etc was inconvenient for you, I apologize . I hope you have foresight past the current event and stick around.
Thanks for your patience.

We work in software and we understand very well that upgrade, new releases and lunching of new features and product is consistent phenomenon in software.
What's most important and critical in Trading is that your existing services to your client remain intact besides of anything since their money is at stake, this is not a matter of any convenience or inconvenience.
If you are not prepared to do and could not do that then you are not a trust-able and trustworthy brokergare trading platform.

For which we had to migrate our entire data and app to a better server system. I feel terrible this would have caused you inconvenience yesterday, but besides the interruption yesterday, I can assure you that it is a necessary step taken by us for the future, I hope that you understand.
This server migration was announced a week in advance. We have had a tremendous inflow of call, that's the reason you were not able to get through, if you have issues that persist, let me know, so that I can help you resolve it.
