“If you got it, flaunt it, ” sang Donna Summer way back in the early 80s reigning in a bold attitude, an attitude that said that there was nothing wrong in showing it off. To ‘show off’ is a human instinct, some do it skillfully like Liz Hurley and Nayar recently did it over reams and reams of paper. Some industrialist and tycoons do it by throwing bashes over their recently possessed cruisers or planes and get it spread all over Page3. Politicians show off their clout and power, goons show off their muscle power. Even monarchs do it by bringing out their finest crockery and cutlery; they show off their rich palaces and ‘jaded’ gardens and of course the best of the jewelry.

Let us not forget how we have grown up as little boys and girls showing off that new pair of socks, toys, pencils, erasers etc. As adults our worldly materials still matter to us and we sport the latest cells and gizmos we can buy off the shelf. We try to impress people by sporting branded shirt, we also make sure that it comes from the exclusive range and while we shop for it, we make double sure that the label reads loud and clear – after all we are spending a lot more not just to cover our body but to impress people who would slyly read the label. We all possess this very human, almost animalistic instinct to show off and believe me we all love to do it. But our avenues to showing off our possession have considerably reduced as we become more and more dependent on an automated way of life.

Thanks to the ‘think tanks’ at ZEBO.com – ‘The World’s Largest Repository of What People Own, ’ we can once more do just that, ‘show off.’ Yes! ZEBO.com a social community–cum–E-commerce site has come up with this unique idea to list your possessions on their site, within your profile with details including the price we paid when we bought it. On ZEBO.com we can also list the products we want and send these information to all our near and dear ones, this way we subtly suggest our dear ones as to what we expect as a gift on our next birthday.

I was invited to ZEBO.com by a friend and initially I was drawn back by the idea of letting people; especially strangers know what I own. But browsing through various profiles that were thrown up when I searched for people owning the products that I own, sort of compelled me to send them messages, I felt a bond with those total strangers a bond that was linked to that common factor of similar products that we owned, and before I knew it I was clicking them to be my friends and join my friends list. It was just a matter of time, the interactivity of the site just got me hooked on it, talking with people across the globe on various products and services, sharing tips on shopping, gifting and using various products.

Yeah! ZEBO.com builds up the community in this unique way where people who possess similar products come together to talk about their possessions. In fact the site has got other features like a message board called ZE’Buzz where users come together to discuss about products. Then they have a ZE’ Question & Answer where users put up question related to products, like tips on shopping, tips on using products and various other consumer related queries.

While ZEBO.com has a full fledge online shop that sells right about everything under the sun, the latest addition to the site is individual listing wherin users like you and me can now dispose off their used, rarely used or unused stuff and make a few bucks on it. This feature is made simple wherein a user of the site has to fill up details about the product he/she wishes to sell, uploads a picture, sets a price he/she expects and ‘voila’ they are done. It’s simple and easy.

To promote your products on ZEBO, you have every possible tool like ZE’Bulletin Board, ZE’Blog, ZE’Buzz, ZE’ Q&A and probably the best visual expression for selling your products, ZEBO Strip, a picture strip, it all depends on your creativity  and productivity. Based on the Web 2.0 concept, ZEBO.com gives the reins in your hands, it’s for you to guide your horse of fortune the way you want to.

With over 5 million user, you do have a chance of disposing of even your worn out torn jeans, for there would be somebody who may just want that ripped off  piece of clothing you no more desire to hang around in.

Orkut sure has some competition coming…or is that a threat to Ebay… whatever folks, ZEBO.com has arrived and it surely is going to make lots of others run for cover.
