I've owned an RX since 2007, which I had bought from my house carpenter. I had waited for an 1.5 years to get this bike, and fortunately I got this for just 8k and spent 12k more on it for paint job and all plastic peripherals.

For the first 3 years I never bothered about the mileage, since I thought calculating it wud spoil the fun. But since I m earning and filling gas on my own money, I was forced to, luckily it gave 35Km/L.

It is easily the most comfortable bike ever, and is really annoying to ride any other bike after riding this. Never tire riding this at all, since my travel to my work place and back home is 79Km per day.

Pros:

  • Handling: Easily one of the best if not the best handling vehicles there.

  • Comfort : Mentioned earlier

  • Reliability : This is a part where the RX succeeds over the others. There wasn't 1 day when I was let down in these years(may be once since I forgot to fill petrol). A locality named karapakkam, was previously a lake, now is an IT park. On rainy days it can clearly be seen why.  Once heavy rains filled the road nearly to the carb level. when karizma's and pulsar's were failing, the RX soldiered on like a champ.

Similarly we had made a trip to Andhra, 200 kms trip, and back home on the same day. my friends pulsar engine seized, luckily jus 20 kms when we were back home. The RX was the hero again, toed the bike a 4 guys including me.... I can go on with stories but these 2 came to my mind first.

  • Looks: I do like the classy looking bike. But since this bike is for the immature, I think its a little too subtle looking, isnt bad nor too good looking, better than average.  I do own a yamaha enticer too so I do know something about taste..

Cons:

  • Fuel leaks: carb never stops leaking almost changed the gasket and the sealant nearly 6 times in 6 years... so I gave up

  • Oil leak: never stops so I made it a point to fill  engine oil every 3 months

-Oil pump: Not reliable since it stopped working once, since then putting 2t oil in the tank for safety reasons.

Side mirrors in my opinion looks ugly, so had removed them. And the rear indicator lamps are fragile, but recently I had found a company named swiss, the make good indicators

If ur lucky to get an rx, buy it immediately, the spares are too cheap. And you'll not regret it at all.
