I watched this movie and I soon realised that it was the best X Men movie so far. entertainment perspective . ofcourse.
As most hardcore fans would agree the movie had the same Wolverine story which was implied in X Men 2 but its the presentation which turned the tables in a good way for this one.
The movie starts with an imaginary Wolverine's(Jimmy) childhood scene, shows him and his "brother" Victor who were both mutants, how they served in the army, how Jimmy got his adementium claws etc etc. All aspects were basically covered and with grace, great presentation and absolutely fabulous background music. In fact it wouldnt be an overstatement if I said it had the best of background music I have heard in years.
Hugh Hackman's performance needs no mention. He is the ultimate Wolverine. Ryan Reynolds suits the description of Wade Wilson perfectly. A special lookout for Will.I.AM from Black Eyed Peas as the teleporting mutant John Wraith.I felt no one could have played Victor(Sabertooth) as impressively as Liev Schreiber who put on some muscle for this movie. He had worked with Hugh Hackman in Kate and Leopold before this.
Besides them, we see a lot of other mutants who were very well presented. I personally liked the introduction of Gambit a lot. That was really impressive.
This movie also deals with a very important comic book character in Wolverine's life . Silverfox . though he may not have been as hot as in comic books . but we get the picture.
So far so good . So is every movie going person happy?
Not quite .
Evidently the movie writers changed the character's history and appearances and hardcore fans are messed up about the whole deal. According to the comics:
1. Sabertooth is Wolverine's dad and not his brother.
2. Deadpool is a very fierce anti-hero . but not a complete villain. In this movie, not only is he a simple villain but also he was more like a zombie controlled by Stryder.
Dead Pool is a very well known anti hero and has his own fan following. Ryan Reynolds suited the character perfectly but they messed it up totally.
There are several such tit-bits which have gotten the Marvel fans mad. I could mention some other facts but I dont want to give the story away.
So the problem is the comic book fans just could not associate with the movie.
So IMDB rates it at a 6.9 despite its really magnificent presentation.
Well whatever is the case, I found it very entertaining. so I give it a 9/10.
Way to go Wolvie .!
