I have been a fan of Durjoy Datta's writing. The way he describes love and the dramatic endings just attract me towards his books. But my thoughts changed a bit after I read When Only Love Remains by Durjoy Datta. I was very disappointed by this one.
Before reading this book I had read some reviews where people had compared it with Aashiqui 2. But after reading this I justify those comparisions, at some situations I also felt that the story line is a little bit similar to the movie.
The story is about Devrat and Avanti. Both of them are in their early 20s. Devrat is a college drop out who then becomes a singer and is quite popular on social networking site. Avanti as well is a young girl who falls in love with Devrat by looking at his facebook profile. She always dreams of meeting Devrat and what all she will do once she meets him. This entire part decribes the first half of the book.
The second half of the book involves all hospital scenes crying, praying then again crying and again praying. Avanti finally meets Devrat after a concert in Kolkata and the second half even describes how these two fall in love. And then the unfortunate happens that leads to a big crisis in lives of these two.
Overall it was an average read. It was quite similar to many love stories we have read or seen in past.
