Looks like am the lucky one to pen down the first review for Whats your raashee. WYR released here in Dubai today the 24th of September since movies change on a thursday in Dubai.
The movie is over hyped and the same had me excited as I advance booked my tickets to watch the same with my friends . The verdict - none of us were impressed. Its draggign and almost on the borderline of boredom.
There are a couple of scenes and dialouges that make you laugh however it fails to impress, even the suspense element(about which girl yogesh chooses) doesnt make u hold your breath-!
I have the spoiler element here so people who want to watch the movie can read forward on their own risk .
Ashuthosh gowarkiers sun sign is the one that is chosen and after watching the movie, I did not quite like the choice of girl . Am not commenting on all the 12 characters however to say a few points
1)Aries - They really messed up this character. Priyanka did a good job however for some reason it looked like they were hurryign with this character.
2)Aquarius - I guess I passed my verdict on this before and this seems the only character potrayed without any flaws.
3)Leo - I felt it was again so short and too abrupt a walk off
4)Libra - He exaggarated on this one about them being overbearing
5)Pisces - Exaggerated again on this one about their dreamy qualities
And above all that he puts a useless story inbetween about a detective spying on yogeshs uncle to find out if he is cheating on his wife.duh.
The movie is not worth 3 and a half hours of watch nor is it worth to spend money in the theatre. You can easily enjoy this movie at home on a DVD.
Basically I feel, Aushutosh himself is overhyped. Anyways that just my opinion. Maybe he should just stick to period films.
Priyanka has put in her hardwork and Yogesh has been sincere. But this is just a movie you will forget once you leave the cineame theatre.
