I traveled to Kashmir on May 4th through the Women travel organizer (WOW - Women of Wanderlust). To begin with there was no WOW member traveling with us and we had to coordinate amongst ourselves (18 of us) at Delhi airport to make sure all were around and to get the tickets and WOW travel tags, etc.
After reaching Kashmir, there was a guide arranged but he was more of a businessman than guide and instead of taking to sightseeing places, was more interested in taking us around the souvenir shops and restaurants where we had some fixed share.
There was some last minute issue with the stay arranged at Pahalgam and the stay was shifted to another hotel. We were ok with that as some unforeseen issues are always there and no one can be blamed for that. But then, the breakfast and dinner was still at an old restaurant and we had to walk back and forth for breakfast dinner both the days!
The Delhi-Srinagar-Delhi flights were done through Go Air. The return flight (Srinagar-Delhi) was delayed by 3 hours and many of us missed the connecting flights from Delhi. We were stranded at Delhi airport and when we contacted WOW member to check if she can help us out as Go Air was their travel partner, she just asked us to pay the difference amount and take any other flight ticket and travel and this was coming up to 15K per individual. Later, we talked to the Go Air Manager and got stay arranged at Delhi and also, were put on another flight the next day.
We had a fun trip because of the group that we were and go along well. But arrangements wise, for the money charged, its can be a lot more better than what was done.
