I have a 100 lit fridge from Voltas, which my uncle bought in Delhi in the year 1961. The fridge has traveled around the country for years, before coming home to roost in Mysore. The fridge makes a very gentle, sweet sound, when the compressor runs. The comprssor was never opened for repairs. I have two Voltas fridges now. I wrote to TATAs nearly a year back offering to give them the old fridge for free, so that they could display it in one of their showrooms as a tribute to the invincible endurance quality of the brand. Sadly, the TATAs were not bothered with the fridge, they kept giving some lame excuses, until I stopped writing to them. So I am still holding on to it, with no regrets.
