A wonderful car from volks. Review on Volkswagen Polo

I've been using polo diesel highline tdi since nov 2012 and have completed 35000 kms. Ive been waiting all these years to write a review so that I get ample time to understand my car. I dnt have any idea about the petrol version of polo.but the diesel version is too good.

Despite having a 3 cylinder engine it delivers good amount of power. the built of the car is very strong and heavy which keeps it balanced even at high speeds like 120kmph.there is a turbo lag on first gear.the turbo actually kicks in when u shift to the second gear.so if u conpare it with maruti swift its feels underpowered initially but as soon as the turbo gets activated it just cruises.

I have test driven almost all the hatchbacks back in 2012.out of them I found polo and fiat punto to b the most stable cars.

In terms of power i20 is the most powerful hatch.but it lacks stability at high speeds. People always vomplain about polo having a 3 cylinder engine.but they dont knw why the germant auto giants have incorporated a 3 cyl engine in a hatch. 3 cyl engine gives you better mileage due to less friction and less emissions.but its true that they can b noisy. So now I will write the pros and cons of polo(after riding it for two years)

PROS

1. Stable at high speeds.

   
   




2. Still gives me a good mileage of 23 - 24 kmpl if I hold the speed between 40 and 60.

   
   

3.  The abs and ebd quality is top class. Tgis car has an excellent breaking system.which guves u more confi at high speeds

1. Very responsive. Light steering.

   
   




2. Interior quality too good unlike toyotas or hondas. Only vws .fiats.skodas and hyundai have good quality interiors.

   
   




3. It has a very strong body unlike marutis and hyundais

   
   

CONS

1. Some people may not like the low level bucket seating of these european cars.especially the passengers on tje rear seat.

   
   




2. Lack of leg room on the rear side. A six footer may find it diffi to squeeze in

   
   




3. Noisy engine. But it is almost silent when u switch on the aircon and the music system

   
   




4. Noticable turbo lag initially. But I believe that balances with the gud mileage that am getting right now.coz turbo activation during in tje first gear itself gives u lot of power but it burns lot of fuel as well.especially during a city drive u dont need a turbo.

   
   




5. Services are expensive. But I like the huge time interval between the services.after every 15000 kms.

   
   




6. Clutch pedal is on the lower side. U need to put in an extra bit of effort to push it down.gives u leg aches during city drive.

   
   

Conclusion

Every car has its on pros and cons. So I wud definitely suggest polo diesel highline to a person who is in search of a good hatch.
