Well Ameo(petrol) is a 4-sub meter sedan from Volkswagen. It is more like Polo with a slightly bigger boot. VW says that Ameo is designed for Indians and Indian roads. Though it is designed by germans but they have taken input from guys sitting in VW’s india office. Personally, I believe it drives better than all of other sub-4m sedan be it Xcent, Amaze or Dzire.
The Ameo, like the Polo, is a safe and predictable vehicle when it comes to handling. The steering is very comfortable in that it is light at city speeds and moderately light at higher speeds. All variants of the VW Ameo come with dual front airbags and ABS as standard. Braking is just as good as the Polo. I must say it is the most safest and reliable car available in India.
In city traffic it gives the milage of apx 16-17 kmpl whereas on highways it provides you 19-20kmpl which is very good I should say.
As a segment offering, the VW Ameo makes a great case for itself. There is absolutely no compromise when it comes to features or build quality. For me leg room and boot space is a problem but feature and specification wise this car is the winner. For me it is value for money car. Even the base Ameo offers dual airbags and ABS, something its competitors do not offer. If someone is planning to buy a 4-sub meter car than one cannot afford to overlook Ameo.
