Though there are lot of hotels famous for one or more of their recipes one has to never miss a chance of visiting it when I am in Gandhibazaar, a crowded place in Bangalore south, a place dominated by kannada speaking people. I am regular visitor of Vidyarthi Bhavan since my school days i.e., from 1969.
Most of the staff of the hotel who are working there during my childhood days are there even now working. The hotel was so narrow and long like a narrow gauge train with tables and chairs on both sides. Sometimes due to morning rush we were made to sit in a small room with a long wooden bench on one side and wet grinders on the other side grinding the batter. I have never tasted a masala dosa better than Vidyarthi Bhavan's.
Even now most of my friends and family members who are settled abroad will compulsorily visit the place during their visit to Bangalore. One has to taste it in his/her lifetime. And this is also a great place to find most of you lost college or school friends. I found one of my lost friend of 1983 when she came to have her breakfast on a sunday with her family.
Now that the hotel is renovated with a huge space which can accommodate at least 150 members. But even now after renovation people will be standing next to each seat waiting for their turn to occupy the seats which makes each and every one to eat in a hurry and can't relish.
