If anyone who want to join Videocon group of Industries never ever join or think thousand times before joining, I would like to narrate my experience with Akai Consumer Electronics P Ltd - Bangalore. I was working as a Service Manager in 2002. The company, though was in quite a good locality in R.T Nagar. The problems are never ending....
First of all the quality of the products which was marketed by the Videocon group in the name of AKAI is the nth rate products. The sales during the period was good as there was already made a name in the market when it was marketed by Baron International Ltd ( one more cheat company for which I clogged for 9 years and came out of the company after it was sealed by the commercial tax office for non payment of 3 crores sales tax.). There were lot of failures in the televisions and audio & video equipments.
The company never ever used to supply the required spare parts for which and expected that no customer complaints should be pending at the end of the day. We used to get around 60 customer calls out of which lot of powersupplies, microprocessors would fail. Every time was called Aurangabad office we used to get a reply ' no stock of spares' and everybody wanted there were no customer call pending. I am not a GOD or a MAGICIAN to set right all the products troublefree.!
The service head who was heading the all india service could not manage efficiently and we were at the receiving end always. The branch manager was a very strict person and of course there was always a rift between the sales and service depts. After seeing all these problems I went into depression for which my wife who was also working for an recognised electronics company of the same nature said to resign from the job and look for another one.
I struggled for 10 months and could not continue with the tense situations. I resigned my job and they used to deduct my provident fund around Rs. 500/- per month and I was not give the PF number inspite of calling the Bangalore office several hundred times, by now many accountants have changed and they are not able to look out for the documents and though I have the Bonus slip for Rs. 5500/- it is not settled till date. The salary and other perks were paid thru HDFC Bank account and even now I have all the documents with me to show that they have cheated me of my Provident fund approx. Rs. 10000/- and Rs. 5500/- Bonus tlll date. I have tried to contact with Mr. Venugopal Dhoot the chairperson but in vain. Since I don't have his number or email ID.
I do not know what the hell the auditors doing and where the money has gone? I could have taken up with the labour court for which I may have to spend more that what I have to get, so I am helpless with this crooks in a vast ocean.
