Date of disaster- 10th December 2011.Bill no- 109462. The unfortunate dishes that were ordered for home delivery on the fateful night-
1) Nimbu Chicken- No Nimbu, garlic overshadowing all other flavors, reheated in stale oil.Unpalatable.
2) Bhoona Murgh- Ditto. Oily, inedible and even more unpalatable.
3) Paneer Tikka Masala and
4) Hariyali Pulav.- Zero flavour in both dishes. Stale oil used in the paneer. ZERO taste in the pulav with some sort of half hearted couloring given to it.
Total Damage- 827 Rs.
One of my worst experiences EVER. Had ordered for the dishes for home delivery. at around 9ish this evening. Surprisingly fast delivery (20 minutes).Thats when the culinary nightmare unfolded. Tried the Nimbu Chicken which is supposed to be a starter.
The first thing that hit me was an overdose of garlic which deadened my senses for a good minute (no fear of vampires tonight eh!).
Went in for the Bhuna Chicken and Paneer and realized that the starter was not an anomaly, it was the rule. The same stale oil had been used. There was an overpowering stale/ smell from the food.
Net result- Unpalatable food which resulted in the family having to reheat yesterdays Pasta. In hindsight we should have done that instead of reaching for the phone.
I have tried a lot of places in and around Thakur Village/Complex and have ordered for home delivery from a number of them as well. This experience would however rate as probably the WORST ever. We called up Urban Tadka and were made to listen to the insinuation that we were lying and that the food cannot be bad.We invited Urban Tadka to send someone over to sample the food.
Another phone call later a Ramesh Pandey did come over to pick up the food. The food has now been taken back to Urban Tadka, Thakur Complex.
When I inquired about my refund. I was informed that the food will be taken back and 'Tested'...wonder whether they have a 'food lab' to do a chemical analysis when a simple tasting would reveal the truth....the food was ATROCIOUS.
I have eaten out of this joint bon a couple of occassions and the food has been pretty decent. This experience however has literally left a bad taste in the mouth.
Wonder If I will get my money back now...I am not holding my breath though!
