I am a very big fan of Sonu Nigam like half of India. He is undoubtebly, the finest singer in the world. Choosing 20 songs from such a wide list is hard, but these are my choices.Saathiya(Saathiya) - This is one of my favourite songs, I cannot imagine anyone else singing it. Wonderful lyrics by Gulzar and extra-ordinary music by the maestro AR Rahman only make it better.Sandeshein Se Aate Hain(Border) - This is the song which put him in the big league. This song is for all ages. He shared the mike with Roop Kumar Rathod, but it was Sonu who sounded better. Hamen Jab Se Mohabbat(Border) - From the same film, beautiful lyrics and music from Javed Akhtar and Anu Malik.
Chanda Ki Doli(Chanda Ki Doli) - This song is from his last album. It was composed by himself. It has to be one of his best songs.Ab Mujhe Raat Din(Deewana) - From his best selling album, this is the first song on the CD and the most relaxing.Deewana(Deewana) - The title track is the best song in the album.Tanhayee(Dil Chahta Hai) - This has to be one of the hardest sobgs to sing, and Sonu has sung it beautifully.Satrangi Re(Dil Se) - He sung this back in his early days but still sounds like he does today.Mere Haath Mein(Fanaa) - Jatin-Lalit in their last film gave Sonu the song of the album which in my opinion was the best of the year. Mere Haath Mein is an amazing song sung beautifully by Sonu and Sunidhi Chauhan but was overshadowed by Chand Sifarish.T
umhi Dekho Naa(KANK) - The music was OK for a very over-rated film. Tumhi Dekho Naa was the best thing about the film and it is a great song.You Are My Sonia(K3G) - This song was a chart-buster and it had the combination of my favourite actor, actress and of course favourite singer.Suraj Hua Maddham(K3G) - One of the best romantic songs sung very well by Sonu.Kal Ho Naa Ho(Kal Ho Naa Ho) - Along with Saathiya, I believe this is the best sung song by Sonu Nigam.Main Hoon Na(Main Hoon Na) - Kiska Hai Ye Tumko Intezaar, Main Hoon Na. Sonu was there to sing it so well.Jaage Jaage(MYKSH) - One of the most under-rated songs of Sonu Nigam, he had to share the mike with Alka Yagnik and Udit Narayan but stole the show.
Panchi Nadiyan(Refugee) - The whole music by Anu Malik was superb and this song just was the best sung.Mujhe Raat Din Bas(Sangharsh) - Another one of Sonu's under-rated songs, this one is just superb in all aspects.Zindagi Maut Na Ban Jaaye(Sarfarosh) - He combined with Roop Kumar Rathod again for another truly touching song.Do Pal(Veer Zaara) - A sad song, Sonu's voice perfectly matched the song.Bijuriya(Mausam) - What a rocking song! That's all I can say.So this was my list of the twenty hard chosen Best Sonu Nigam songs.
