These may be real oldies but they're my favorites!

It's been great fun to read about others' musical favorites.  Nice to see the occasional common favorite and a bit sobering to note that virtually all my favorites were written before many of the writers were born!  It seems to me, that as we go through life, more and more our favorites become the sound tracks of our memories.  Music can change a mood, evoke a feeling or make us think.  we can wallow with the blues or crank up the volume on a good sing along song and shake the blues away.

So here is my top twenty or so.  No particular order.

Love Me Do  the Beatles

Bye Bye Love   original by the Everly Brothers-I like the Simon and Garfunkel live version

Who put the bomp in the bomp sha bomp sha bomp Barry Mann(thanks to Mike 24 for remembering this singer)

Good Vibrations The Beach Boys

Natural Woman Carole King  also You've got a friend written by Carole King but sung by James Taylor

R-E-S-P-E-C-T  Aretha Franklin

Dream a little dream of me  Mama Cass Elliott

Misty Johnny Mathis

Old Time Rock and Roll Bob Seeger

The Boxer  Simon and Garfunkel

Perhaps Love  John Denver and Placido Domingo

Wonderful World Louis Armstrong

Daydreaming  Lovin' Spoonful

Evergreen  Barbara Streisand

Guantanamera The Sandpipers

My Love  Paul McCartney and Wings

and now I'll spend the day singing!
