The white man's burden..

Once upon a time, someone said, 'It was a white man's burden to educate the whole world. Be it culture, religion, sports, science or music.' Centuries have passed and the white man still looms large over the world. And as it seemed, the white man had trouble with the word, Indian. so he blew away the Red Indians and as for us, Indians, he had to find other ways as the Indians werent as foolish as the Red Indians.  So he came to India with a gramophone and a steamer full of records of the beatles, elvis presley and frank Sinatra and many others. One fine evening, he sat on the beach thinking of ways to conquer the Indians. He called his servant to bring his beloved gramophone to him. The servant obeyed and brought the gramophone with a few Presley records. As he played a few songs, the natives lurking in the bush nearby started grooving to the tunes in wierd steps. The white man was amazed. He knew he had found a way to attract the indians. So he distributed the records and gramophones to all the nearby villages. The white man was no longer a threat for them. Every person was singing and dancing to the tunes of the'Jail house rock'.among the natives was caayotee's great grand daddy.

Great Grandpa collected a good number of records from the white man and made a collection of his favorite songs. Over the generations the records were finally passed on to Caayotee as a legacy. The white man's plan to conquer the indians was foiled and he was sent back to where he came from but his legacy still lives on. The records were converted to mp3s by caayotee and were stored in a highly secure place. The legacy still lives on and hopefully will be passed over to a few more generations to come.

Okay wake up, that was a pretty bad story by any means. Forget the white man, this is about my most favorite songs procured from him. And I have tried to choose only the most mellow numbers from my white man collection. If you want the wicked stuff, you can check my collection in the'20 best metal songs'. The white man had a massive heart attack listening to it. So I think we should let him rest in peace and sing these softies for his soul.

John Lennon - Imagine

One of the greatest songs of the last century. I'm not the only one saying so.check out the world charts around the net and you'll know what I mean. White man loved it so much that he wanted it to be played during his funeral too.

Kansas - Dust in the wind

This song is a almost completely played on guitar and still it doesnt seem to miss out on anything, in fact it would not have sounded better than this. Perfect song for a guitar solo.

Beatles - Free as a bird

This song was written by John lennon in 1977 but was never released. It was finally sung by the remaining members of the beatles in 1995. And sung amazingly well!

Chicago - If you leave me now

This song was released in 1976 and was one of the most memorable Chicago numbers.

White man's one of the last few favorites.

Hotel California - Eagles

They call it the devil's song. But far from it, it was one of the most melodious numbers from the eagles. It's a perfect song for a guitar solo.

Pink Floyd - Comfortably numb

This song has really got the power to calm you down and heal. There is no pain you are receding.a distant ship's smoke on the horizon.this song made the white man feel nostalgic about his home.Alas.he was miles and miles away.

Procol Harum - White shade of pale

This song by a small time band called Procol Harum was chosen as the no.1 in the best 100 songs by BBC UK. IT is one of their only memorable numbers. They simply couldnt match it again. The lyrics of this song is as mysterious as the song itself.see if you can decrypt its inner meanings. The white man couldnt.he spent his whole life trying.and kept trying.

Elvis Presley - Are you lonesome tonight

One of the originals white man brought with him from where he came. He kept it with him till the end. Caayotee got it compressed to mp3.It will be passed on.it deserves to be.

Simon & Garfunkel - Bridge over troubled waters

This band have a number of classic creations to their name. This song from 1970 had become their signature songs. A must have for every connoisseur.

Bob Dylan - Knockin' on heaven's door

This song originally song by Bob dylan and covered by a lot many singers over the years including Guns n roses is well, a masterpiece.

Morris Albert - Feelings

One of my favorites and quiet haunting. This is again retro stuff and one of Morris Albert's best.

Moody blues - Nights in white satin

White man would always whistle this song whenever he went to the beach for a stroll on a moonlit night.this song is one of Moody blues all time hits.

The Cars - Drive

The cars were one of the successful bands of the late 70s. they had a number of hits to their credit.Drive was the most memorable song from the CArs.

Frank Sinatra - It was a very good year

This song has got a certain comic sense to it.What more can I say for a singer of his stature. He is simply god! Even the white man would bow down in his honour.

Louis Armstrong - What a wonderful world

This song will make you feel good about the world around you.About being yourself and enjoying the small things in life. A perfect song for a evening stroll.

The Rolling stones - Angie

They were the bad boys of the yester years rockin' days but this song is one of my most favorite rolling stones numbers.

Traveling Wilburys - The end of the line

This song by Traveling Wilburys is one of the best country songs I have heard. Its easy going and light hearted. IT'll make you feel good. Take my word for it.

John Denver - Leaving on a jet plane

This song by John Denver was covered after many years by chantal kreviazhuk and it was the original soundtrack of the movie, Armageddon. But White man didnt live long enough to listen to the cover version. He was happy and content with the original version which reminded him of his beloved.

The everly brothers - Bye bye love

This song is particularly close to white man's heart as he sung it for his beloved when he left on his voyage to the unknown.never to return. One of the everly brothers' most memorable numbers.

The righteous brothers - Unchained Melody

One of the biggest hits of the righteous brothers and righteously so!It could easily be called one of the biggest hits of all times. The white man's all time favorite and hopefully his last.

Okay, so these songs together comprise my collection of the 20 best songs from the white man collection. You may think that all of this retro stuff. Yes, most of it is. but they have stood the test of time and will definitely be passed on by caayotee to future generations like it were passed on to him. The legacy has to live on.

Also I didnt number the songs in any order because it was really hard to choose the best from best. Even white man was confused. He still looks confused in his eternal sleep. Well, after all these years I think, the white man had a good side too. And I appreciate him for that.

Just then, I heard a few surviving red indians sing in the dead of the night.

'White man came across the sea

He brought us pain and misery

He killed our tribes, he killed our creed

He took our game for his own need.

Run to the hills.

run for your lives.'
