Guys I have been going though the reviews of fortuner even before its launched in india. Absolutely I dont have any doubt on the features, style or performance of the product. But still its very well known that it is priced very high in India. Fortuner is very cheap even in Thailand comparing to India. Why is Toyota having this double standards.

I was amazed when the bookings crossed over 2500 cars in the first 3 days launch of this car for a manual gear box with no advanced technologies which are yet to come still they have managed to book orders for around 2500 cars. Our people have just booked the cars even before seeing them for the hype it has created.

Now Mahindra is building a world class car code name W201 They claim they are going to position the car above scorpio on par with CRV, Captiva & Fortuner which would be a high end product from Mahindra since they are eyeing on US and European markets for this SUV. All this for around 10-12 Lacs as stated by articles and statements from Mahindra. The product would be launched in Mid 2010.

I sincerely think we should give our Indian Players who try to give the features of state of the Art technologies and awaiting to cater US and European Markets rather than going behind companies which tries to come and get their share in India, by way of Milking our hard earned money. I dont have any denial on Toyotas capabilities and Market share, still feel its not a product which gives Value for Money.

I would certainly stick to Mahindra W201 or Tata indicurz who knows our roads better. Only worry is these companies should keep up their service as they try to reach international markets.
