Though many have written in all papers /magazines or in emails.this gang will never change. The recent hike in petrol prices by Rs.4/- has made them hike rates by Rs. 10/-. Who said its minimum Rs.15/- its now minimum Rs.30/- for a KM.
When prices were raised before budget they hiked minimum from 20- 25 and when the Govt. brought it down they didn't do so.Now its gone up they are at it again.
When will we this race be wiped out. I hope the MRT will do them in.
till then I have learnt a few strategies [good especially for women]
Always quote Rs.10 less than what you normally pay
Never tell them to travel up to your destination especially if its a wedding / party / gathering, they will argue with you so that you get embarrassed and pay extra.
Never travel on autos where the driver has quoted a high rate and you bring it down after much argument, he will surely start cribbing once you enter the periphery of you destination
Auto guys cough / sneeze and complain of general price hikes to get extra touchi from our feminine sense of charity and concern.[So don't indulge in this type of conversation while traveling]
Put your fashion designer coolers / cover your lipstick and then discuss rates.
Tell the address down to the last detail.house no. cos mid way they can get tired and complain of undisclosed distances agreed upon
7.During the travel when they start asking intricate directions [ even after giving it] just SNORT.don't re do the entire exercise.he is actually planning to tell you that you were not clear before fixing rates.
Don't force change, the auto guys direction of travel to suit yours, be patient and find one which does or else you will have to pay for his trip home also.
When fixing rates which you know look him in the eye.he knows that you know.
10 Then finally there's a guy along ask him to fix rates before you climb in
