Hello friends, I am going to share my own experience and knowledge on buying a used bike. As we know bikes have become a continuos part of our daily lives. We become independent as we can reach our destination without showing our hands to others. It is good to buy a new bike, but if you are opting for a used one then I will help you in taking a good decision.

First, you decide your actual purpose for buying a bike as different bikes are available in the market to meet several needs of people. If you are buying a bike for daily communication purpose then go with well milege provoding bikes. When you exactly get your purpose of buying a bike then next proceed to budget.

Second, it is quite better to have a close observation of the bike that you are going to buy in second hand. Talk less on phone and more by directly. Try to perfectly and thoroughly acknowledge why the owner wants to sell his bike. Is there any big issue with the bike? Or he just wants to sell to meet his financial requirement. If you are satisfied with the answer then proceed for A to Z checking of the bike. Don't be in a hurry that time. Keep patience and check everything. I think it is better if you will take a bike mechanic or bike expert that time.

According to my knowledge you should check the brakes first and be sure there is no pulsing with the breakpads. Check the clutch function. Make sure if there is no oil leakage. The whole chassis should be thoroughly checked for visible deep scratch marks. Check the conditions of the chains sprocket. Rotate the rear wheel and ensure of the smooth chain sound. Do the same for the front wheel too. Search the rusted portions and make yourself sure that the bike is perfectly mentained before or not. Ask the owner to provide servicing details. Check all switches and lights. Check the handle's smooth movement. Check the suspension condition and be sure if there is no oil leakage. Take a look on the exhaust pipe's condition. Then do have a test ride setting all the gears up to check the engine sound on the road practically.

Then proceed to paper works. Check RC ( Registration Certificate) and be sure the number written on engine and chassis should match the number written on the RC paper ( against engine and chassis in the RC paper) . Check Insurance papers, PUC & NOC ( from RTO) . Check if there is any police records against the bike.

Ask some questions about buying the veichle to the owner just to check his truthfulness.

If you are satisfied in all the fields that I have mentioned above, then make a deal.Lastly, I would like to say that buying a second hand bike in good condition is better than owning a new one. It will save your money somehow.

Hope my tips will help you in deciding to own a second hand bike. If it is helpful to you then do have a like to encourage my efforts to provide you such experiences of me.

Thank you for reading.

Have a nice day ahead.
