Be Careful while Applying For Jobs Online

The world out there is real competitive and the best skilled person who presents himself well out there deserves the best.

Now jobs openings in any part of the world can be seen with a click of a mouse. Thanks for cutting edge technologies. When we have benefits, similarly we definitely do have some liabilities. It’s up to the individual how he is going to use it after all we are all humans and we tend to do mistakes.

When one is having a good job and looking for another on personal background, it may not feel as stress as one who doesn’t have one. It will really be hard for anyone who doesn’t have even a basic job, leave alone for his career line. There are many people around who doesn’t have this.

Few Reasons to point out are:

  1. May not have got good opening for desired job,

  2. Not effective in presenting oneself before the interviewer,

  3. Not good in communicating the skills and the concepts and finally

4. Last but not the least, may not have a good resume even for getting short listed.

In recent past I was looking for a job change and I had my CV posted in few job sites, one day I got an email from the HR of top US Company asking me to send me my updated CV.

I was very happy to see the mail and I was ready to send my reply mail along with my updated CV. Now I noticed that the mail came from ComapnyName@yahoo.com, a domain which is used by all of us for our personal reasons. I was taken aback and I was just seeing the email id for few minutes and I guessed why this company which is quoted in NASDAQ does not have a domain for itself?

Immediately I went to that company site and navigated and found that it had its own domain. Then I wondered why it came from an ordinary yahoo domain. Thanks to my colleague who was beside me informed that people who don’t have proper formatted resume will send these mischievous email. Thereon I was cautioned by my colleague that before sending an application asked me to check whether the email was genuine or not.

So I thought to write this topic for MS users asking to be CAREFUL when an email comes from Yahoo, Hotmail or Rediff etc., while applying for jobs and also against these notorious people.

Regards,

Shiv
