The first ever theatre of Dombivali is Tilak Talkies. It is a huge multiplex by definition, and had too many patrons. My cousin at Dombivali would always take us to Tilak for movies and it used to be good experience. However, with time we need to adapt and modernize. Tilak is one of those theatres that is very stubborn, and doesn't even try to cope up with the competition.
When compared to the earlier times, where people didn't have too many options, Tilak was like a Rockstar. But now, people don't really like going there and even my cousin complains about it. I had been there just once after the such negative feedback had started pouring into my ears. And I will definitely agree to all the complaints that people have made.
The Ambience is foul. There is a typical stinky shoe smell in the theatre that will make you feel congested and run short of breath. This was monsoon when I went, and the seats were sort of wet and slimy, which felt very unhygienic. To add to the misery, there were mosquitoes. For this, the tickets fares are the only parameter where the competition is maintained. I mean, the ticket rates are really high.
