The Village is a movie that I saw this evening with a couple of friends. The preview made it look really good. There was something in the forest that was killing, something mysterious.

The CAST- Joaquin Phoenix, who was in the movie Signs, plays Lucius Hunt. Lucius is a shy, independent man that a few girls like.

-Bryce Dallas Howard debuts in the village as a beautiful blind woman named Ivy, who has many siblings. She is very independent, caring and nice.

-Adrien Brody plays Noah, a rough character with problems. He is ill and shows how ill he is later in the movie.

This movie also stars William Hurt, Sigourney Weaver, Cherry Jones and more.

The movie is placed in the late 1800's. The community lives in a small, happy village but has a haunting past. As their community ends there is a forest where something bad lives and no one must ever go into that forest. If anyone in the community sees a red plant or anything red, it must be buried because it is a sign of evil. Their protection colour is yellow.

As a boy is watching the town, Lucius goes into the forest. The monster in the forest is spotted and a siren alerts the town. Everyone freaks out and hides. As Ivy's sister gets married, Ivy longs for love. She tells Lucius that she is in love with him, he loves her and they plan to marry. But someone is not happy about them getting married and suddenly Lucius is hurt.

Ivy recruits herself to go in the forest to find herbs that will save her lover. Her two helpers chicken out, so she is alone in this haunted and spooky forest. Eventually she sees the monster....that's all I will tell.

As Ivy goes deeper into the forest she finds out something shocking and confusing. You have to see this movie to get the ending. I really enjoyed the ending.

The acting in this movie was decent, so was the plot. The music in this movie was wonderful. There were definitely some jumpy parts in this movie. I wish they would have explained more parts of this movie. But overall, it was worth the money to see it. I recommend it.
