I cannot resist writing this review. I wanted to write on Times Of India the very first day I became a member here...somehow it slipped my mind. Every morning if I'd pickup a copy of the Times of India, I'd yell and decide, ok today I will bash them up on MouthShut.com However, I'd then tell myself that they (Times of India) are not worth wasting time on. But today <Sadsack's> review made me think again and decide to give him some company.
The Times Of India is the most blatantly crude and vulgar newspaper. This again, is the newspaper which claims blatantly that it is 164 years old and that it is one of the largest selling daily in the world!
Does times of India has any worthy content?
While it often uses words from the dictionary, it's content is sick. I feel sick when I read this newspaper. Gone are the days when my dad would not miss his copy every morning. Times Of India has become a tabloid. An epitome of yellow journalism. Crude journalism.
Where do I begin?
a) They shamelessly print coloured pictures of blond models and Blond Hollywood actresses on the FRONT page. I think the owner/editor has some kind of fixation with everything that is blonde. Times Of India wants you (males out there) to get aroused or get cheap thrills looking at these pics. Oh comeon, on the front page? I'd recommend you pickup a Mid-day and stare at it's mate if you want to do that. These pictures have no meaning at all. Times of India also violates copy right blatantly by lifting pictures from playboy.com and other porn sites.
So grotesque and stooped have they become, that such pictures of semi-naked ''blonde'' women are now even published on the inside news section of the Economic Times...a Times' sister publication.
b) Times Of India needs good editors. Their reporters are humble but those dumb editors don't know what to cover and what to skip. So they will cover Hrithik's wedding and his farm house map but will skip 30 killed in Kashmir or 25 deaths due to cold waves in the north.
c) Times of India is greed. Greed and avarice is the root cause of the downfall of every empire. Times of India will go down to books soon. People have built a distaste because of it's Front Page sell out to a dot com ''Indya.com'' check https://timesofindiasucks.tripod.com I came across this site in April. Times Of India is a hypocrite. It's every action is full of hypocrisy. When we started our dotcom, my co-founder who was co-ordinating press said that Times Of India will not cover any dotcom. I thought ok maybe they don't cover dot coms but then that's not true. They explicitly promote Indiatimes.com They are slapping Indiatimes.com In My Face. Why the he** should I be forced to see Indiatimes.com on the front page. That too they are so immature, that Indiatimes feature is made into a news article!!!
Consider this, every dot com it's worth in salt has search engine. When Indiatimes launched it's google based search they made it into a news item for days. The simplest analogy to this is that of a villager who has'nt seen the city. When he arrives in the city he thinks he has discovered the whole world and does'nt know how to react. Am I making sense? Similarly Indiatimes got so overexcited...they did'nt know how to react. Indiatimes gets hyper when they add something to their portal. That too on the front page. As a news item. I feel like vomitting when I see those Indiatimes news. Do they think we are dumb and stupid?
They launch Planet M. They promote it's launch and sales as News Item again. Full page news coverage in their supplements. Oh God, is this a newspaper or your own publicity medium, Bennet and Coleman. That reminds me, Bennett and Coleman is a colonial, british era name, they should change it. Oh yes, when Bill Gates came few months ago, Times Of India's chairperson was so greedily waiting for the cheque. That too made front page headline and a front page photo.
My dear dear readers, enough of taking consumers for a ride. Let's tell them to go to he** We have other alternative newspapers. By the way check https://timesofindiasucks.tripod.com
In short, visit Indiatimes.com or timesofindia.com ONLY if your base instinct want you to view and oogle at nude pictures of blonde women, which has no context to the overall Indian culture.
I will be the happiest person on earth if Times of India management justifies those blonde pictures on left hand side frontpage everyday. Till then, install filters and block your kids from porn.
