The Best Musical Movie ever made. Review on The Sound of Music Movie

Yes, I would like to put the film ''Sound of Music'' in the category of the best musical film ever made.

I saw this movie last week for the first time through the DVD. My husband had just presented a music system to me as my birthday gift and he had purchased a few DVDs also along with it. One of these DVDs had this film on it. Since I had already heard a lot about this movie from friends during my college days, we decided to play this particular DVD first. Though the film turned out to be rather long, we found every moment thrilling and touching. When the film ended, I told my husband, ''You gave me the best birthday gift anyone could have ever given!

I had listened to and enjoyed several songs of this movie all through my childhood, teens, and adulthood without knowing that they were of this film, e.g. ''De, re, me'', ''My Favorite Things'', e.t.c. But what I liked particularly about ''Sound of Music'' was the poetry in every aspect, be it photography, lyrics, or dialogue.

We starting watching the film on Sunday night and it ended at 3 AM the next morning and we all got so engrossed in it that none of us went to bed till the end, not even the kids! I had to get up at 5 AM again to get ready for office, but I was pleasantly surprised to find myself feeling fresh and well-rested! Only a good movie like ''Sound of Music'' can have this effect.
