I have visited TGKF around 5-6 times over the last one year, for lunch and dinner meals. I must say that the experience has always been delightful. I have always gone for the buffet option and the price varies across weekday lunches, weekend lunches and anyday dinner.For the latest weekend lunch visit, the buffet was around Rs 600 + VAT.
The buffet covers five broad courses:
Salad including cut fruit: Served along with different chutneys/relishes.
Kebabs - while this would be starter in other places, in TGKF, this is pretty much the main course! Both veg and non-veg options come with five varieties of kebab. The galouti kebab is the numero uno (and whether it is veg or lamb version), just melts in the mouth. Other kebabs are simply delicious too.
Main course - around 3 to 4 vegetarian dishes (yellow dal, dal makhani, kadhai paneer, saag) served with rotis, butter naan, afghani naan.
Main course - veg or chicken biryani.
Dessert - varies across kulfi, seyvian, paan icecream, gulabjamun, jalebi, rasmalai (around 3-4 available on varying basis)
And of course, the selection of meetha or plain paan to wrap up the meal!
Typically most people run out of capacity at the end of 2nd course (kebabs)! Naturally the kebabs are the highlight of the meal and everything after them, seems like an optional add-on, which you might be tempted to just skip, even though each course is pretty well crafted and delicious.
The service is generally quite good (I did hear from acquaintances that it was not so good during a weekend lunch) - but I have found it pretty good on weekday/weekend dinners and weekend lunches.
The drinks selection is pretty good too and covers a decent range across all beverage categories.
Recommended for visits on special occasions or even every now and then!
