I started reading them when I was a young girl and even now I could read them with the same enthusiasm. They are among the best children's books I've read (and I've read all the classics as well as Roald Dahl and Harry Potter).Julian, Dick, George, Anne and Timmy the dog has the most exciting adventures on all their holidays. The adventures are the kind that makes you believe in adventures, the food makes your mouth water and the children are what you wish your own children would be like.
Even George with her tantrums does obey her parents and Julian at times. Of course, Timmy is the best dog in the world. The series was continued by others after Enid Blyton's death, but these are not as interesting as the original series. The books are an excellent way to induce your children to the pleasures of reading.
