You are the Alchemist... Review on The Alchemist - Paulo Coelho

In his world famous book, "THE ALCHEMIST" Paulo Coelho tells a story of a boy who traveled from Spain to Egypt following a dream to find a treasure. He finds an Alchemist and in turn becomes one. Before end of his journey he found that the journey in itself was a treasure...

The book itself is about a journey…Human beings journey to find out the truth…Individuals and groups who are trying to find happiness…How they ran after fame, money and other worldly things.

What Paulo Coelho asks you to do?

1. Listen to your heart. Sandiyago, the boy who heard his heart's wishes and he proceeded accordingly, without doubt and overcoming difficulties. Alchemist teaches you that, if your dream is so powerful and if you wish to fulfill your dream, nothing can stop you. Now, only thing you need to be careful is that, when you go searching your dream, you should not forget about your duties (There is a good story relating this point in the book). In the novel, Sandiyago learn the ability to convert to a strong wind. It didn't come in a moment's thought, but in desperate search and endless endurance.

2. Follow the symbols you get from the nature. For Paulo Coelho, nature has nothing accidental. Everything has its reasons and there will be symbols available in the nature. We should observe the nature and should be wise to learn more from the nature, before the accidents reaches our varanda. (His novel Zaher gives a good narrative of this point) The Shepard boy could only reach his destination because he observed the nature correctly and followed its symbols.

3. Each item or living creature in this world has mutual relations in one form or other. .

An Alchemist is a person who knows how to convert Copper, Iron, Mercury & any other low material to Gold. He also has knowledge how to prepare Amrutham from the waste of the process. Basically, all metals, minerals and air are made of bases of elements, protons, neutrons and electrons. Alchemist believe that by heating a low valued metal for several days, months and years one can get into its base form which is common for every metal and can convert it to Gold. When he works like a Sanyasi in this endurance, not only his body, but his mind also got purified. Each metal is important in this world and each has its on use. There is no inferior metal. There is a duty for each metal to do. Don't interfere in other's life. When one wishes to convert the low cost metals to Gold for physical reasons, they will not get gold, but they will lose the inferior metal as well. But when they try to make it knowing the basic principle which is the cause of creation, survival and progress of all metals, minerals, air, human beings…he is the Alchemist who knows the principles of the nature and the association or harmony of one element to the other.

Like The world which we see is only a physical representation of God. The work of an Alchemist is in spiritual level. The duty of an Alchemist is to conceive the endless spiritual power of God to a physical matter.

Intrude to the soul of the universe. Bring out the treasure the nature has stored for you. The universe is not developed in a day. It formed taking millions of years. The valuable metals and creatures are formed by millions of years. Those who do not understand his principle will treat gold as a matter and fight for it. But one who know it make use of the knowledge and live happily.

We should be always ready for changes. Staying in Spain, the boy remembers, he could not have learned Arabic language. Not been able to see many places and people. He could not have met the Alchemist. He could not be an Alchemist. He would not have met his love...

What we see is the heaven dreamed by our forefathers. The heaven which we expect may be here after a long time...but after changes through years...

We are in this world with a purpose. There is no inferior me. We don't need to interfere in others life. We live according to our dreams. Don't allow others to intervene in our dreams.
